Hyatt House Virginia Beach / Oceanfront

I like that the room was spacious for my family. The hotel is close to everything.

Staff were great , facility clean, breakfast awesome... pet friendly great

Junior Suite made it possible to be together with family and watch movies in the evening.

The view from the balcony was amazing

I was very happy with the property as I stayed there previously five or six years ago and I will be staying again when I visit Virginia Beach

We came to celebrate our 35th wedding Anniversary and sadly for the price we paid for the Hyatt House was over priced and lacked in meeting our needs.
The price we paid did not include the
•$30 per day parking.
You have to park 1 block away in the garage)
We were disappointed The Hyatt House does not offer •complementary ice water/coffee/Hot water in the lobby like other hotels in the area does (such as the Hilton). Especially, when it’s hot outside.
•Has limited luggage carts (had to wait 30 minutes to get one) and a hotel staff even tried to take it from us after a different staff member gave us one.
•The bathroom sliding door was inconvenient and the latch wouldn’t alway lock.
• the fridge in the room was not working. We had to fill the sink with ice to keep our beverages cold)
•The Breakfast was mediocre. They only rotate the days in which they offer pancakes, French toast or waffles. Would have been nice to have a rotation in egg variety.
•the bar & grill downstairs was very quiet and not lively at all) so we didn’t eat there at all.
• the app you have to download to use in the laundry room (unless you use quarters) didn’t recognize half of the washing machines and had to switch the clothes to the one it did recognize). $1.25 for washing machine & $1.25 for the dryer
(Thankfully the hotel supplies the laundry detergent and dryer sheets at the front desk)

I loved the view from our oceanfront room (King size Kitchenette) w/ balcony. I got to watch a group of dolphins (right in front of the hotel) from the balcony every morning from 8:15am-10:15 am and at 5pm.

While the Hyatt House Hotel lobby and room was kept clean. thank goodness this place had NO BUGS.

The hotel was quiet along with the A/C in the room (which is great). We didn’t really need to drive as everything was in the area. They also have a trolley for $2 or $4.50 all day (if you use the same card).

I liked the firework they had Wednesday night at 9:30pm

Very clean friendly place to stay

Check in was nice. Room condition could have been better. It felt dated, with furniture discolored. The shower was not in best condition (cleaning wise). I saw hairs on one side. The bathroom light never turned off and stayed on all night. I contacted front desk asking if the light stays on all night, I was told no it turns off itself. A technician came to troubleshoot second night and after checking said the switch was bad. He mentioned someone will replace it next morning. However, no one came, and then when he came for his work shift which as 2nd shift, he changed it. The room was hot as well, so I asked him if it could be made cooled, so he made it cooler for our last night of stay. Room was hot. The dark curtains were not dark and you had plenty of light in room in the morning from the top. Breakfast was decent but repetitive wish there was more variety over few days, there was shortage of silverware which was not refilled even after a wait, so we finally used plastic disposables.

This property is wonderful and located right on the beach, with direct access to the sand and beautiful ocean views. The entire property is very well maintained, and the rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable.

If you're looking for extra space, I highly recommend the One-Bedroom Suite—you will not be disappointed. The parking is also very convenient, making your stay even more enjoyable.

The breakfast and overall food offerings were superb. What really stands out, however, is the staff. If you need anything, all you have to do is ask. Everyone is friendly, professional, and genuinely willing to help.

We had a pleasant stay overall—the room was comfortable and the scenic view was absolutely beautiful!
A couple of small issues kept it from being a perfect experience: room service was somewhat delayed, and the bathtub surface was quite slippery. Traveling with young children made the slippery tub a noticeable safety concern for us.
Overall, it’s a wonderful location, but adding anti-slip mats in the bathrooms and improving room service speed would make family stays much better.
