The room and bed were okay. The place was clean. It could have helped to have the wifi password in the room. I was not able to use the wifi because of the password. It was too much going back to reception for this. There was no phone to contact reception.
I woke up in the morning and there was no water to shower and no word from the hotel staff to mitigate the situation. All they said was that they are dealing with the situation and should take a few hours. How does that help when you booked a hotel because you are attending a conference? This was not okay.

The location is brilliant and food was very good.
Not a plug near the bed.
Like all Protea hotels, one expects a certain standard, which of course did not disappoint.
The only issue that made my stay unpleasant was the lack of water for close to a day and a half. It was explained to me that it was beyond the control of the hotel. However, the fact that I had to walk to where the "back up" water was stationed and walk back to my room was very taxing and uncomfortable given the size of the bucket that was used to draw water at a time. You can imagine how many trips one had to make to ensure the toilet was flushed properly.

The staff was very welcoming and the rooms were very clean. In all, the reception was great.
