I have stayed at the StR Osaka 6 or 7 times now, and I have made it my go-to hotel for my Osaka stays. There are some excellent hotels in Osaka at good price points, but I will explain why the StR is my favorite.
Location: The StR sits on top of Hommachi station, which lets you take the Midosuji line N/S and the Chuo line E/W. These two lines will get you to a lot of the place you want to go. Additionally, you can walk out the door and go directly down towards Shinsaibashi-Suji.
The hotel itself is beautiful, and the check-in area is quiet and serene.
The bar is a knockout, and a renovation was completed in February 2026 (unfortunately for me it was being renovated during my stay and we only got to go one night). They have great drinks and often nice live music.
The rooms are classic and nice while not being absolutely top of the line.
Breakfast is great, and the on-site tappanyaki is very good.
Hotel concierge has always been very helpful in setting up reservations, cars, etc.
Elite benefits: I am currently Marriott Ambassador, but have stayed as a Titanium and Platinum. Always gotten good breakfast benefit (sometimes extended to my guests in other rooms too), and very nice welcome gifts. They even remembered by daughters name and had a custom set of cookies iced welcoming her, which was very nice. The only knock is that, for a luxury Marriott in Asia, they are pretty stingy with the suite upgrades. I've never really been given what I would consider a substantial upgrade (oddly, once I was offered a suite when traveling with a friend - had a two bed room booked and they offered to upgrade me to a 1 bed suite. I declined. This annoys me because they had 2 bed suites available on app, they just don't ever offer them as upgrades.
Overall, one of my favorite properties.
It was a beautiful hotel. The location was amazing. The rooms were lovely
I waiting at the breakfast for 45 minutes after I ordered it. We were going to universal studios right after and were in a hurry. When we asked they said they forgot to out the order. We had to leave right away without breakfast and we were never compensated with anything
The room was spacious clean bed was comfortable
Last day my flight is at 10 p.m. I asked for a late checkout it was rejected I asked if i can pay for late checkout fees also rejected, the receptionist and the manager suggested to book an extra night I informed them only for extra 3-4hr only I was denied for my request. I expected better hospitality from st Regis hotel, this policy of very specific non flexible policy was really frustrating for us
The gym was small and limited
The bed.
A lot of absurd rules. A beautiful terase always closed, no shades on the terrace, noisy toilets, tinny rooms, a bar with the tables always reserved and no one to used them.
We arrived midday to a very gracious staff. The sense within the hotel were very pungent even in the elevator it smelled like you were in a nail salon with nail polish remover. It was very unusual and that lasted the whole time we were there. We only stayed one night, which was a great thing since the hotel is very old. The rooms are dark. The bathroom is beautiful. Has all the amenities you would need to except It's heavily carpeted and curtains everywhere.
You are in a business area, clean and close enough to the main high end shopping as well as a market
The staff were absolutely the best!
Location was centeral and near a metro station
Rooms were spacious and clean
A minor inconvenience was that the curtains didn't fully cover the windows and now in the summer the sun comes out early so it gets pretty bright in the room
The service at The St. Regis Osaka was exceptional across all departments, including the Front Office, Restaurant, Concierge, and Security. Every single staff member went above and beyond to make my stay truly unforgettable.
Excellent breakfast with both continental and Asian options. The hotel is well located, close to shops and restaurants. It is very clean, with pleasant common areas and a good restaurant. There is also a lovely rooftop garden. The concierge was very helpful and spoke excellent English.
The reception staff had limited English skills, which made communication difficult at times. The deposit required at check-in was higher than our actual expenses, and we had to wait three weeks for reimbursement.
We booked a room for two adults and one child; however, no extra bed was provided for the child. There was also no small welcoming gesture for children, such as a teddy bear, which we had received in other hotels during our trip in Japan.
Un super accueil. Malgré la barrière de la langue, le personnel a été très attentif et aimable.
Le service de majordome est très pratique.
Good Location and staff were helpful
Decoration is a bit dated
The location was perfect. The staff was very welcoming and polite . Did all the work within no time.
Just wanted to have a champagne/cocktail and enjoy ourselves while shopping. Main level dining was lovely and referred us the 12th floor bar and escorted us to the elevator. When we arrived we were told we couldn’t sit at the bar and needed a reservation for a table. There were many vacant tables. Asked to sit at a table and no. Disappointed in their dismissal.
