Nice place for a weekend in the countryside. Don’t look from too close.
Pros:

Amazing place, lots of history and the outdoors are beautiful.

Cons:

The room wasn’t clean. Not hoovered (hoover still in the hall a couple of rooms away) some empty biscuits wrappers on the side of the bed and the sink in the bathroom not clean either. Quite disappointing at that level of price.

Perfect stop on our way to the Highlands of Scotland
Pros:

Well equipped with comfortable beds, 2 bathrooms (and plenty of hot water for a bath). Tea and coffee supplies provided (not a given in self catering accommodation!). Nice view from the front of the property.

Cons:

A bit bland, and strange noises from ceiling/loft...

Average experience, could have been much better, sorry.
Pros:

Staff were friendly and helpful.
We liked that we were able to stay together in a two bedroomed house.
There was parking right outside

Cons:

Food was expensive, especially the second night with a very complicated way of charging. Unfortunately it was cold when it arrived and the steak was really poor.
Breakfast was okay but again expensive.
Accommodation was very dated and the kitchen equipment was sparse.

Pros:

Disappointing
Pros:

The location is lovely and the grounds

Cons:

Been here many times in the past . Now looking tired needs some tlc, paint peeling off in corridors , poor shower ,often no hot water .holes in towels
Menu at restaurant was poor , expensive and couldn't find anything we would eat on it .
Continental breakfast was very poor ,cereals croissants and toast. we had paid £10 each in advance for 'a good breakfast' but on arrival was told cooked breakfast not included and would have to pay again for that !? If you pay for cooked breakfast on arrival, the continental is included ! Makes no sense . We refused as it would have meant we had paid £76 for 4 breakfasts !!
Unfortunately we will not return here which is a shame ,used to have a lovely restaurant and good bar meals too, which they no longer do either

Really enjoyed the annex cottage. We were travelling from Shropshire up to North West Scotland.
Pros:

We were able to bring our elderly dog. Also as we were in the annex cottage, we were able to self cater. I am a vegan Coeliac so useful for a challenging diet.

Cons:

The restaurant menu was quite expensive on ou northward visit. We self catered on our southward journey as the cottage had cooking facilities.

Pleasant stay in lovely surroundings, albeit without extensive facilities.
Pros:

Scottish breakfast was good and decent value for money.

Hotel was quirky, a little old fashioned but has real character. The full size snooker table was a nice surprise (although they could do with a couple more 'rests'...

Cons:

Pros:

The castle and it’s shared spaces are lovely

Cons:

Damp air and soiled carpets in the bedroom. The smell of the room even went into our clean laundry and we’d smell it in out clothes in next accomodations

Overall a great experience at a reasonable price
Pros:

Great location down a winding private track with the hotel fronting onto the river.
We upgraded to a superior room which was very well appointed with views over the fields.
Staff were all very friendly and welcoming.
Breakfast was only continental but perfectly adequate as we hadnt realised our booking didnt include a cooked breakfast.
Nice bar to the side of the main lounge was a lovely cosy spot.

Cons:

Evening menu was very confusing, waiter had to come back a couple of times while we deciphered the options.
The food was not to our liking

Pros:

L'edifici és espectacular i l'entorn verd amb el riu a prop per desconnectar del tot. L'habitació espaiosa i neta.

Very disappointing. Certain restaurant staff needed lessons in how to smile and welcome their guests.
Pros:

The location was wonderful

Cons:

It looked very run-down and in need of a considerable amount of money spent on it to bring it up to the standard I would expect for the amount we paid for a night’s bed, breakfast and evening meal
