A break from home with a nice swim.
Pros:

The room (207) was large with a lovely view over the garden. The food portions were decent. Nice pool which can be used after checkout.

Cons:

The room smelt a little musty and had cobwebs in the overhead light. The duvet cover had a hole down the seam. The room we stayed in suffered with echo and vibration from doors closing beneath us. Overall the hotel felt a little dated. Family stayed there a few years ago and it just felt a bit tired since then with not much atmosphere in the public areas. There was a wedding on and it did feel those guests had priority over others (cocktails not available until the wedding party had moved on incase they wanted to order cocktails which felt odd given the large cocktail menu).

Overall had a good time but felt overpriced when breakfast was not included. The Spa area was great.
Pros:

The hotel was relaxing and the outside was lovely - we sat outside on the terrace and had lunch.
The room was quite spacious as was the bathroom.
The staff were all lovely and attentive and nothing was any trouble.
The Spa facillities / gym was great and really added to our weekend away.

Cons:

The inside of the hotel felt dated and a bit unloved to be honest compared to the outside.
We had dinner on the Friday night and neither of us enjoyed it - I had the fish and expected it to be far superior and my partner had the curry - the sauce really was not pleasant, the rice was a bit wet and the nan was dry (shop bought ?) barely touched this. For the price it was poor and we both left quite a bit on the plate.
We bought breakfast both mornings but only the continental as thought we couldn't go wrong with that - it was nice.
The bed was not the comfiest and the weekend felt a bit overpriced when we had to pay for breakfast on top.

- Das Restaurant war ziemlich schlecht. Sowohl das Abendessen als auch das Frühstück waren auf einen sehr niedrigen Niveau.
- Das Hotel und die Zimmer sind schon recht alt, was man an der Ausstattung und der Sauberkeit deutlich spürt.

Perfekt für Kurzaufenthalt
Pros:

Der Blick vom Zimmer und vom Frühstücksraum. Traumhafte Palmen. Gutes WLAN, Frühstück war zum auswählen ob schottisch oder kontinental. Haben ein Zimmerupgrade kostenlos erhalten.

Cons:

Eine große Bettdecke fanden wir persönlich unbequem, aber das sind wir halt nicht gewohnt.

Balgeddie House hotel visit
Pros:

Balgeddie House Hotel is set in a nice location with beautiful gardens at the rear of the property. Using the swimming pool and steam room was a bonus. Full Scottish breakfast was lovely with lots of other options from the self service area. Our room was huge as was the bed which was comfy too. We enjoyed our stay and would return again. Good value for money.

Cons:

The view from the room was the car park which was unfortunate because the gardens were so nice and we would have been happy to experience that. Tea and coffee facilities in the room were not replenished after day 1which was a shame because it's nice to make yourself a hot drink first thing in the morning and when you return from a day out.

Wenn es sich ergibt… gerne wieder
Pros:

Uns hat alles gefallen. Das Zimmer war unterm Dach, aber sehr geräumig und gemütlich.
Wir kamen sogar noch rechtzeitig an um den Pool nutzen zu können. Das war für uns sehr erholsam.
Das Hotel liegt in einer ruhigen Wohngegend.

Hotel is more like a residential pool, fitness club and restaurant for locals.
Pros:

Restaurant served nice food and the rear garden was a lovely outlook.

Cons:

Hotel is in a built up residential area and Google maps led us asray.
The room we were allocated was up 4 sets of stairs and very hot in the 'attic'. We lugged our suitcases up as no lift and for international travellers staying for 1 night, this was not ideal and we hated that the staff said no elevator for 'those rooms'.
There are dogs allowed on second floor which is fine, but we were shoved on top floor with no offer to assist with our luggage, so 4 flights up.
The 'spa' is basically a pool with a steam room and sauna and no hot tub/jacuzzi. The hot tub was all we wanted to relax our tired muscles, so not great.
The bathroom in room are small and old with a shower in the bath which I dislike.
The dining tables did not display a menu or wine list and we had to ask for this for dinner but most restaurants have this on the table.

Good experience overall
Pros:

The Victorian style Hotel is beautiful in every aspect, I loved the opened landscape on the back, it's totally my kind of vibe.
The staff was exceptional, Joanne in the reception is such a sweet person, very welcoming and accommodating.
The restaurant and bar staff absolutely fantastic as well.
Spa side of it also amazing, decent sized swimming pool nice sauna and steam room.

Cons:

Only a couple of things, the food itself was super basic and a bit overpriced. There was nothing on the menu apart from the steak that was appealing to eat, it felt like pub food and in terms of taste and presentation just didn't meet the 'nice' standard for us.
For me prices should always reflect quality and the quality of the food from 1 to 10 was a 5.
The other thing was the mattress in the room was too soft, i guess the hotel still has the old style spring mattresses which are a bit uncomfortable.
But I would definitely come back for the spa experience.
