Our stay was absolutely perfect
Pros:

Our 2 night stay at Hotel Eguren Ugarte was excellent from start to finish. We booked a deluxe room with a balcony which was definitely worth the upgrade, all the rooms have a stunning, panoramic view across the vineyards. There is a small fridge in the room which was replenished with 2 bottles of water and coke daily.. The food was excellent, a limited a la carte option or 5 course daily set, both very reasonable, as was the wine sourced directly from the estate. The grounds around the hotel are very well kept and you can enjoy several historical features that have been preserved with a stroll around. Throughout our stay, the staff were very friendly and polite.. We booked the wine tasting tour, which was about 75 minutes, and as it was our first, we found the history of the vineyard very interesting, and it provided a perfect introduction for us to wine tasting and to the Rioja wine region.
It was extremely hot during our stay and the climate control throughout the hotel was very welcome, it lends itself perfectly to a small infinity pool which would enhance it to another level. 100% recommend a stay here, it was faultless.

We had higher expectations of the diner and the breakfast. Location depends on the bodegas you want to visit.

Pros:

A fantastic hotel at the perfect location! Everything was so well kept and in decorated in a wonderful style inside and outside. An interesting hotel!

Cons:

We should have been informed on arrival that the wine shop was open only from 10:00 to 19:00. We almost missed it...
The restaurant was under staffed, so a lot of waiting for the food. However every dish was delicious.

Decepcionate por el preció que pagué… lo unico bueno las vistas.

Las vistas desde el balcón.

Cons:

Pagué mucho dinero, a la hora de la cena empezó a entrar olor a pescado en la habitación… cogimos la mejor habitación que ofrece el hotel… el olor era INSOPORTABLE. Tuvimos que abrir todas las ventanas ya que olia muy muy fuerte. La cocina está justo debajo y el olor subía por los conductos cuando tenian el estractor encendido. Bajamos a comentarlo a la recepcion, y nos trataron de locos… estoy segura que ya se habían quejado otros huéspedes anteriormente, el olor era demasiado fuerte. El chico de recepción, fue a la cocina a pedir que apagasen el esctractor (como digo ellos saben perfectamente que las habitaciones de arriba tienen este problema) luego entraron en nuestra habitación para comprobar el problema, y nos dijeron que ellos no olían nada… vergonzoso. Por otra parte la cena deja mucho que desear, el menú que ofrecen no es nada variado, esa noche tenian solo PESCADO (vaya) o carne… sin más la verdad una cena muy básica pero cara.

Ok overall needs rethink regards menu and vegetarian/pescatarian menu

Evening meal was good , but no really vegetarian/pescatarian main coarse and over all not worth the money!
