Golden Residence Hotel

The hotel is spread across 3 blocks, block A, B and C. Block C is on its own across the road from A & B, here breakfast is served, the indoor and out door pool is located.
Block A is the furtherer away, Block B is central. Rooms in Block B seem to be superior to Block A - I didn't see the rooms in Block A so I cant comment on them.
I didn't realize when booking that hotel was spread across three buildings. I asked to be moved from Block A to a location closer to the pool and restaurant, and this was accommodated without fuss.
The sauna was not in use, there was works being carried out. The indoor pool could do with a bit of updating.

Не ожидайте, что бассейн будет комфортным он будет гарячим, буд- то его подогревают. К сожалению номер, который был заявлен на Букинге с видом на океан и бассей на втором или выше этаже оказался на первом этаже с видом на кушающих людей прямо у входа в ресторан. Утром, днём и вечером выйти на балкон было не комфортно так как прям под балконом сидели люди.Номер старый даже запах старости,пыль и грязь в углах не моют. Если ваш номер в А и Б корпусе то на завтрак и в бассейн вам нужно ходить через дорогу в корпус С.

The Breakfast Area is Chaotic and Very Noisy because 3 Buildings of Guests are having to share a smaller Tightly spaced Buffet Area. Many tables are squeezed beside food access aisles that are already tight Forcing Guests to Run Into Each Other! Expand your Breakfast Area and open up the Bar seating! Our Premium Apartment with Seaview had No Washroom Ventilation causing it to get stuffy and the Mirror to Fog Up. If you closed your apartment blackout curtains to block the sun, you couldn't see the nice view outside the room because a 2nd Set of Sheer Curtains was Missing on the curtain rods empty curtain hooks. The bedroom Guest pillows provided are either Too High and Hard or Too Soft and Low giving neck issues. The maids use the same Guest Elevator which causes guests on higher floors to wait longer for an already busy elevator. The Pool located in the Breakfast Building is Too Small for 3 Buildings of Guests to share. Our 10 Day Luxury Holiday Experience in Golden Residence was ruined because it took the Hotel 4 Days into it to finally give us the correct seaview apartment view as was advertised in the room photos and as confirmed and sent in my early January booking for our June stay. Our First Premium Apartment given for the First 3 nights - our View was looking out at the Backs of Buildings and listening to the Hotel's Noisy Air conditioning System from your nice little balcony! And Hotel Workers were continuously sawing, drilling and hammering directly below and outside our Balcony 1 floor below our balcony. We had to Complain to Reception after listening to it for 2 days and to Finally Put A Stop to the unacceptable Noise. In our First Apartment - We couldn't sit out on our Balcony because of the deafening annoying noise.....

O café do pequeno almoço é péssimo, deveriam ter uma maquina de café expresso.
A comida do jantar é fraca, tem pouco tempero, a relação preço e qualidade não é boa.
Apesar de ir em trabalho, tentei, ao final do dia, usar a SAUNA e estava em obras, o GINASIO também não estava a funcionar.

The pool towels can only be exchanged at the reception desk, which is located in a different building from the pool and spa. This is unnecessarily inconvenient.

Both the indoor and outdoor swimming pools require better maintenance. Several mosaic tiles are missing from the pool lining, and my son actually cut his foot as a result. There are also loose stones in some corners that could easily be removed with more attention to maintenance. Although signs clearly state that inflatables and balls are not permitted in the pools, they were being used every day without any staff intervention or supervision.

Another frustrating experience was the check-in process. Official check-in time was 3:00 p.m., yet we had to wait an additional two hours before our room was ready. Even though we were travelling with a four-year-old child, there was little sense of urgency or concern from the staff.

The sauna was closed due to renovation works, but we were not informed of this at check-in. This should have been communicated in advance, especially as the spa facilities are an important reason many guests choose this hotel.

The biggest disappointment, however, was the attitude of the staff. Throughout our stay, we found many employees to be rude, dismissive, and lacking empathy. What was particularly surprising was that this attitude seemed to be directed mainly towards Portuguese-speaking guests. We were not the only ones to notice this; some other Portuguese families commented on experiencing the same treatment. This behaviour was especially noticeable during breakfast, where the restaurant manager's dismissive attitude appeared to set the tone for the rest of the team.

I sincerely hope the management takes this feedback seriously and addresses these issues internally by working with the team to improve the overall guest experience.
