Value for money
Rooms were hot and restaurant food very average
Great room and a good location, just a short walk from Crickhowell. Breakfast was great. Gym and swimming pool were welcome too.
Nothing
Location was good for hiking great views from garden
Nothing
The property, had a marvellous view.
The decor, structure and room design dated and tired. Plug sockets, skirting boards, paint work, doors and wardrobe doors all in need of a refurb.
Our shower did not give warm water and when it did once it stopped coming through midway through the shower. We had a continuous gurgling boiler in our bathroom.
We could not get soda water in the bar to go with drinks.
However, without doubt the staff were fabulous. Nothing to much trouble, and always tried to help.
They had two fans cooling the room, they were all ready switched on, the room upon entering was beautifully cool, and not unbearingly hot and stuffy.
Staff friendly and room large clean and comfortable. It is in an amazing place with some of the best views and the pretty town of Crickhowell on its doorstep. Pretty gardens with places to sit and admire the views
The two single beds were not fastened together to make a double making for a rather interesting night! Service was a bit haphazard on occasions but that maybe because there was a wedding later. However, the friendly staff made up for it
Beautiful location especially when the weather is good lovely view
Lovely staff with a lovely breakfast included
Unfortunately we stayed here on the hottest day of the year, there was only 1 fan provided and only 2 small windows. The water provided was in the room all day so it was like drinking bath water.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the food, both dinner and breakfast, was excellent.
As it is an old property there was no air conditioning but the hotel had made every possible effort to ensure the room was as cool as possible during the extreme heat wave.
The fantastic location far enough away from the bustle of crickhowell but close enough to walk in and enjoy the many local facilities and eatery’s.
The appearance of the hotel was stylish and old charm. Many original features and sweeping staircase. The swimming pool was great and hot tub.
The breakfast was good and bar facilities great.
The staff were wonderful, friendly and accommodating.
My party had aromatherapy or deep tissue sessions with Ffion. The room was lovely and comfortable and she was great at what she did. Highly recommend asking if she can use a room in the hotel for her treatments as she is independent of the hotel.
The Manor was a beautiful hotel and reasonably priced. It had class and style
It is in serious need of refurbishment of some basic but essential facilities . The bedrooms we had didn’t look anything like the pictures advertised on booking.com and they were in need of repair or replacement. Obviously these weren’t the bigger rooms available, but these rooms were much smaller and in need of an urgent upgrade. Especially if climate change continues to cause our weather extremes and raise temperatures, the hotel needs to ensure that sleeping conditions are comfortable for their guests. The sink was way too small in the bathroom in room 8. The loo wouldn’t flush.
It was also unbearably hot and even with a fan the colder air overnight didn’t flush out the heat of the day from the later days of the heatwave. There appeared to be a hot pipe running through the back of the wardrobe and was pushing out hot air and the radiator wouldn’t move lower than 3 and was on.
It’s such a shame, because the hotel has charm and character but the basic structure is in disrepair and staff struggle to help guests with things they are powerless to change.
The location was stunning and one room over the pool was very comfortable and quiet. The staff were all very friendly and attentive, food was delicious, chef made vegan mayo especially for daughter which was greatly appreciated.
My daughter had a room over the sauna and this was oppressively hot during heat wave and neighbours banged doors through the night so couldn't sleep.
Very warm welcome on arrival and very flexible when we wanted to change the time for dinner. Great pool and jacuzzi for relaxing after a day of walking. Nice room, spacious and clean. Delicious dinner!
We were a bit rushed at breakfast and it didn't quite live up to our expectations after such a great dinner.
The room was one of the most pleasant I have ever had good fortune to stay at the whole ambience was excellent. One very very small the police thing of the kettle. I had to seek a plug. Overall, despite the unpleasant heat which I could do absolutely nothing about it was most pleasant stay. I will Be returning. Thank you to the very high lady who assisted me by carrying my bags to my car. It was much appreciated.
Having to climb the stairs, but I suppose because of the age of the building a lift is out of the question. Except for that everything was exceptional.
