Wonderful, welcoming hotel in Tokyo.
Pros:

The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was great and they had a delicious buffet breakfast. Laundry facilities were useful.

Pros:

The Japanese breakfast was exceptional. We chose it the 3 days we stayed, over the buffet. Wonderful food, great staff, wonderful setting to have morning breakfast.

Cons:

Lacked moisturizer lotion.

It‘s good location who likes to go for bookshops.
Pros:

Nice entrance. Very nice relaxing Etage.
Nice employee who was extremely helpful with trouble with booking.com arranged airport transportation in the end. Good bed. You can open small slits of windows for outside air.

Cons:

Too long cue for the breakfast.(over fuller for the capacity of the restaurant)
Waiting time for the elevator every time you want to take one.
Not so happy how they clean edge of the Waschbecken and small details.

Great hotel with a little room for improvement
Pros:

We stayed at the Hotel Niwa three times late August, early September.

Overall, we were very happy with our stays, staff were friendly, room was comfortable (if small, but that is par for the course in Japan), and the breakfast was amazing. The location also suited us, with train stations within walking distance and plenty of restaurants nearby.

Cons:

A few points that could be improved:

Breakfast: now, the food was pretty good, and I cannot remember the last time I had a “Tete de Moine” cheese for breakfast. Note to the hotel: it is Tete de Moine, not Tete de de Moine. However, when it got busy, and it was always busy, staff could not keep up with replenishing food. Also, the coffee machine was exceptionally slow and there were long queues for the coffee.

Whilst we did like the rooms during our first two stays, the room during our last stay was very noisy as it was facing the railway line.

Overall, we were happy and would probably stay here again.

Great location, breakfast and restaurant staff.
Pros:

We loved the location and the fabulous breakfast, including the staff that worked the breakfast . The rooms were on the smallest size even though we had one of the larger rooms. The area around the hotel was very quiet and hard to believe you were in the middle of a big city.

Cons:

I didn’t like the fact that after staying there six nights I went to an elderly gentleman at the front desk and requested a 30 minute extension on the day we’re were ro leave. He initially said I would hace to pay for those extra 30 minutes, which surprised me. I reminded him that we had paid $2500 USD to stay six nights and could he please look into if we truly had to pay for those extra 30 minutes. Then he said he wanted to know why I needed these extra 30 minutes. I was put off to this man questioning my needs for this additional time. So I told him the truth is that we were getting picked up by a taxi to take us to the airport. In the end he gave us the 30 minutes but it felt like he was quite put off in doing do and it just left me with a bad feeling.. Not a good way to end a satisfactory stay.

Lovely room with lots of space for us to relax. It’s a nice location in a quiet neighborhood, which is nice in such a big city. Easy walking distance to great food and multiple metro stops.

Cons:

The breakfast was pricey and the restaurant wasn’t our favorite, but they were so nice about everything!
