Sadly disappointed this time
Pros:

We have stayed here several times before and have enjoyed our stays. The hotel is in a lovely location and is normally well kept. There are little touches like shortbread biscuits on the tea tray. The breakfast is lovely and the staff do their best when it is busy.

Cons:

Our room happened to be the "Bridal Suite" - if I had been a bride I would have been in tears to see a hole in the carpet at the patio door. The hole was about six inches in diameter and tatty at the edges. It was the first thing we noticed and we were appalled at the state of it. We immediately went to Reception to complain that we had spent a great deal of money to stay in a substandard room. We asked the staff to come and look at it to ensure that we were not blamed for the damage. We understand that they have passed our complaint on to the management and we really hope that they will have made the repair.

Taking £100 deposit is a bit cheeky when there's holes in the carpet in your room. The breakfast was inedible.

Pros:

The views were amazing, room very comfortable and the staff were very helpful and friendly, we came to see The Tattoo in Edinburgh. Staff were very knowledgeable about the train service. We had a lovely time, and look forward to staying again.

There was nothing on this stay we could complain about, enjoyed every minute

It was okay
Pros:

The view and the pool

Cons:

I booked for 2 adults and a 2year old. It said there would be somewhere for the 2year old to sleep but there was no where provided.
There was a slight smell of urine in some of the corridors and the room bathroom.

Beautiful views but not the four star hotel we were expecting
Pros:

The executive family suite was a lovely design with the double bed upstairs giving everyone a bit more privacy
The views were stunning and the generous balcony was a real bonus
Breakfast was delicious and the restaurant staff were friendly

Cons:

The single bed was very uncomfortable and the mattress was lumpy
Our room was not made up during our stay leaving us short on supplies
The pool is quite small
We were not asked on checkout if everything was ok or we would have given this feedback directly
There was a fight with shouting and bad language beneath our balcony on our first night
We were baffled as to how this hotel got four stars

Very Good
Pros:

Our executive suite was excellent with amazing views. We liked that the bar and restaurant were easily accessible through the hotel. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was large with a bath. The main living area was large and comfortable.

Cons:

The cooked breakfast was a bit small but tasty (the porridge was watery)
The bar closed early which was disappointing as we wanted a drink to have on our balcony. The balcony chairs were uncomfortable, could have done with some cushions.

Would recommend this hotel
Pros:

Fabulous location, we had a sea facing room, although there is a road directly outside once balcony doors are closed you can’t hear anything. All the staff were extremely friendly and efficient. Beds really comfortable. We ate evening meal and breakfast. Great variety and food was lovely, restaurant service excellent.

Cons:

To be honest I couldn’t say anything was not to like
