Castle Feature Room
Pros:

Brilliant room- spacious, quirky and luxurious Castle Feature room. Friendly, helpful staff.
Peaceful and tranquil setting (this surprised us as there was a wedding taking place- and yet we couldn't hear them!)
Plenty of places to sit and relax! Lovely courtyard. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Cons:

We loved everything!

A wonderful hotel with beautiful grounds with the bonus of it being a castle with lots of history a.
Pros:

We were given an upgrade to a lovely room in the courtyard which was unexpected and very much appreciated. All members of staff we encountered were very friendly, a real asset of the hotel.
Our evening meal in the restaurant was fabulous as was the beautiful breakfast the following morning.

Excellent Service, lovely place but four Poster bed too high
Pros:

All meals excellent lovely place with a great deal of history. All staff excellent, polite and hard working.
On arrival given an upgrade to a suite from superior court room. However, the upgrade (could not revert to original booking) was the cause of an issue for us.

Cons:

Regarding the upgrade, Richard II suite had a four poster bed nice touch but it was on a raised plinth approx 6-8 inches higher than room floor. The real issue was that the mattress on the four poster was at my wife’s waist height so she could not get onto the bed. ( she is 5foot tall ). The hotel arranged for a step to be provided.

We are 70+ years old and although mobile we often get up during the night, my wife remembered the first out of bed step but forgot about the second raised platform and consequently stumbled going to the toilet.

The hotel should make persons aware that a bed arrangement like the four poster in Richard II suite might be unsuitable for certain customers etc. We were informed that that 4 poster is one of the smallest in height of the floor!

Beautiful castle stay with amazing food
Pros:

Such a beautiful property! Such stunning flowers all about, the courtyards are gorgeous. Probably the quietest place I have stayed. I didn’t hear anyone and woke up late. The food here was indeed excellent and I highly recommend taking advantage of it rather than going out. Room was excellent, bed soft and comfy. We really had a great night. I do wish the tour would be available around dinner or late afternoon so we could have gotten a tour. If you arrive at check in time and depart at checkout, you don’t get a tour. The staff could have been a little more informative about how to get around and where you could wander. Loved this beautiful property and would definitely come again.

Cons:

Nothing
