Problem with tv (due to previous guest) which was not noticed prior to occupation but was satisfactorily resolved.
The breakfast was lovely. Great choice of Continetal and hot breakfast.
The little touch with a chocolate every evening on your pillow when you go to bed was special as well as the night cap Sherrie that you could help yourself in the lounge. The atmosphere was homely and warm.
We could not asked for a better location.
Unfortunately the beds were a bid worn out. Our two singles mattresses to make a king size bed, felt like we were lying in dip. Not great. The linen and towels were good quality and everything was clean. .
The only concern I had was that the security. My room was made after we left and on our return, our bedroom door was wide open fore everyone to walk in.
I also found the front street security gate at the reception area on numerous occasions standing open. That was a concern.

The Batavia Hotel is a little gem in the heart of Stellenbosch. A skip away from the center, with charming, quirky decor, well-appointed rooms, amazingly friendly staff and just a delight all round. I've found my go-to place when travelling to that part of the Cape.
Excellent location,wonderful staff , fabulous breakfast. Pool area is lovely. A very safe hotel to stay in . Would book again.
