Second time at Batavia
Pros:

Very inviting, comfortable, relaxing.In a central location.We took the superior room this time and it was exactly that! Spacious ! Could sleep in that bed for eternity!

Cons:

The only thing I would have liked better , to have had 1 or 2 more waste paper baskets as 1 was too small,especially after shopping.

My 5* weird Batavia Boutique hotel disappointment

Nothing.

Cons:

Everything. The photos are from 10 years ago. Photos and advertising is misleading.
We booked in, the next day we booked out, booked in at a genuine 5* hotel.
The decor was scary, actually the hotel atmosphere was scary. Linen had a stale smell,
The lighting my room and bedroom. Breakfast was so so. This was a very expensive lesson to learn.

Misleading information on the booking portal. This hotel needs an upgrade
Cons:

We were not happy with this hotel . Hotel has bad smell when you just walk in.
We had to carry our own luggage up the stairs to the room. Room was dark and had some maintenance issues.
On the room description the was balcony, patio and terrace…. Our room didn’t have it , there was little space in front of the entrance door with chairs and tables… :( .
We asked for another room, hopping that it will be more as per description on booking.com , this rooms was not better and pillows had hair and dog hair on the pillows ... so we went bak to the first room.
There was no sleepers in the room (also included in the room description) , when we ask hotel staff, answer was , we are waiting for delivery.
We checked out and left

Wij waren ondanks het heel slechte weer heel tevreden! We werden hartelijk onthaald en bediend door Potchie (een fantastische kerel!!!).
Mooi ingerichte kamers, ideale locatie om te voet Stellenbosch te bezoeken. We kregen goeie tips om wijnhuizen te bezoeken! Een aanrader

Stress free stay
Pros:

Very good location near the Town center of Stellenbosch. Furnished old style. Good breakfast. No elevator (lift) only stairs but luggage has been taken care of. Advising about local wineries is only on paper available. Got no further explanation from desk manager(nog wine lover?). No restaurant. No room service. Maintenance of rooms during stay of 2 nights was not existing.
