Strangford Arms Hotel

Great location to explore Newtownards and visit Paddy Maynes grave.

Arriving at the hotel, there was a large car park with plenty of spaces. Reception managed to book us in quickly and efficiently. Food in the hotel was good and staff managed our order quickly and efficiently. The Bar was pleasant and the provision of a pool table provided an hours entertainment.
Breakfast staff were attentive and food was nice.

From contacting the Strangford Arms Hotel to book my room. I was treated like a VIP customer. I booked the disability access room and I must say that the staff at check-in were very friendly and I felt a very warm welcome. On my arrival to the Strangford Arms Hotel there is disabled access to the main doors of the hotel. I was greeted by the friendly reception staff. I was very impressed when I went up in the elevator and to my room. In entering my room. I was very impressed with how tastefully the hotel decor was. And I was very impressed with the disability access Wet-Room which a lot of thought has went into designing a Wet-Room for disabled guests. It has non slip tiled flooring and also a very wide entrance to the Wet-Room. It has several grab rails so any guests to the hotel can be reassured of total safety at all times! I was very impressed with how big my room was. But very impressed with the Wet-Room. Especially with the toilet and surrounding areas have a red pull cord should an emergency occur help is always at hand. The bed was extremely hygienically clean and very comfortable. The first night I slept very well. I used the shower facilities and I was very impressed with how hot the water was and the hinged shower chair. A heated towel rail with luxury towels for me to use. After my shower I went down to have breakfast. A cereal, pure orange juice, and a cooked breakfast. The food was really impressive and the waiters and waitresses were very polite and very caring. Breakfast included a yoghurt of your choice. I had my cooked breakfast and I requested that I would have a fried egg sunny side up. The breakfast was made to perfection. One thing that I must say that they had leak free teapots. As pouring tea can be rather embarrassing when you have a leaking teapot. Strangford Arms Hotel in Newtownards is very central to the town centre. Ards Shopping Centre is a great shopping mall. There are many tourist attractions that you can go and see. The staff at The Strangford Arms Hotel are very friendly and willing to help you. Roy who was on reception was extremely very helpful. Paul and Karl were both very helpful too! The service staff Helen was very helpful and very caring too! The room was naturally warm and I was very cosy in my bed too! If you are thinking about booking into the Strangford Arms Hotel book today and don't delay. Thank you to all the staff of the Strangford Arms Hotel who made my stay a very pleasant one.
