Really enjoyed my stay at the W Austin. As a loyal Marriott Bonvoy Ambassador, I’m not typically drawn to W properties, but the recent updates here are impressive.
The location is incredibly convenient, the value for the price is excellent, and the lobby bar has a warm, inviting atmosphere that’s perfect for relaxing or meeting up with friends.
I’d definitely stay here again.
Wonderful valet experience with Joell! And team
First time at this hotel. Stayed at plenty of Ws. Overall sold product. Great location. Excellent gym. Comfy bed. Where did they fall short? Room placement, hard product (many items showing age like the towels, bathroom shower, tile), some construction noise (internal drilling) during the day, AC had a hard time keeping up in 100 degree heat. Its a solid option in downtown Austin.
My friends and I had a fantastic stay at the W Austin Hotel! The hotel is the perfect medium size—large enough to have great amenities and a lively atmosphere, but not so big that it feels crowded or impersonal. The rooms were clean, modern, and comfortable, and the location made it easy to explore everything Austin has to offer.
A special shoutout to Eric, one of the valets. He was incredibly charismatic, friendly, and always had a smile on his face. Every time we saw him, he made us laugh and genuinely made us feel welcome. It's employees like Eric who turn a great hotel stay into a memorable one.
Overall, we had an amazing experience and would absolutely stay here again. Excellent service, beautiful accommodations, and a fun, welcoming atmosphere made this a trip to remember. Highly recommend the W Austin Hotel to anyone visiting Austin!

Great location, easy to get around
Very nice hotel, great valet service. Everyone at this hotel was very nice and very helpful. In-room service meals were very good. Would stay here again for sure!
This is a modern hotel in the heart of downtown Austin. The location is great. As for the hotel itself, my room was of a decent size and was immaculate. The bathroom was a decent size too. I had a desk for doing work. The WiFi signal was strong.
Two negatives: The check in process was a bit slow. Also, there were few outlets in the room. But on balance, I would happily return.
The Pros: Everyone I interacted with was excellent. The hotel’s recent renovation was done very well. It’s stylish and very pleasant to be in. Breakfast in the restaurant was delicious - the lemon ricotta pancakes were well worth it, and the coffee was strong and frequently topped up. Plenty of plugs on each side of the bed including USB-C and USB-A, and night stands with plenty of room for stuff.
What took off a star: I stayed in a king room with my daughter. The room was very tight - much like hotel rooms in New York City. You could barely pull the (too large for the space) chair out at the desk, and in fact the chair was almost too large to comfortably walk around when pushed in because the back of it curves out. We were frequently moving out of each other’s way to let the other pass by. Most important for travelers to know - there is no door to the sink/shower area. The toilet is in a separate room, but there is no privacy when taking a shower. Certainly for a couple this isn’t a concern but it should be more clear on the booking for other pairs who might book the room together.
