Exceeded expectations with a comfortable stay
Pros:

I've not stayed in a Holiday Inn Express before but was very impressed. The room sizes were generous and the included breakfast exceeded expectations. The hotel was also well insulated as you couldn't hear the planes from Heathrow inside (even though you could outside). The staff were very pleasant and happy to deal with requests as my wife had surgery during our stay in London.

Cons:

The price of water at the vending machine was quite steep (£2.20 for 500ml) but given the value of the stay, that was minor.

One thing that really disturbed us on the first night was the fire alarm sounding for a few seconds at 1am, which meant we were woken abruptly and struggled to get back to sleep. I expect that was a one off and our second night was peaceful.

A bit expensive for its location and the facilities, but clean and well maintained. Reservation staff aren’t that friend

Cons:

Reservation staff at the front desk. No option to modify reservation and no refund policy. Entry key kept giving trouble for fitness center access.

Disappointing but fair-ish value and good location. Unlikely to use again

Location. Staff were friendly and helpful

Cons:

Room was too hot - 'aircon' ineffective.
Breakfast was sub-par. (I've stayed at HIX before and enjoyed the breakfasts. I now use Permier Inn as my benchmark for breakfasts in partucular and short hotel stays in general).
