Lage, Innenhof, Freundlichkeit und Hilsbereitschaft
in die Jahre gekommen
* Clean room.
* I was kindly moved to a bigger room, which I really appreciated.
* Most Staff were generally decent, friendly and helpful.
* Allergy awareness — the most serious issue: I have a peanut allergy and was served an ice cream topped with fruit that had been dipped in nuts. When I explained my allergy, the waitress and chef told me that the ice cream itself did not contain nuts and that I could simply remove the fruit. I explained that this was not safe because cross-contamination can be enough to cause a reaction, but this did not seem to be understood. I was again told that the ice cream contained no nuts.
* I asked for the ice cream to be taken away and cancelled, as at that point I no longer wanted it and was disappointed.
The waitress then asked the chef for permission to make me another one, emphasising that it would be at “no extra cost”. I found this response particularly disappointing, as the original dessert was unsafe for me to eat. I was also still charged for the ice cream despite asking to cancel it.
* Room temperature: The room was extremely hot. There was a fan, but it did not actually bring the temperature down, so it was not particularly effective.
* Parking: Parking costs €6.50. The charge is mentioned in the advert, but it is not particularly prominent or clear — you really have to look for it.
* Pets and communication: I was travelling with a cat and a dog and specifically asked reception whether they were included in the price. I was clearly told, “yes, no problem at all”, so I understood that both pets were accepted and included. However, the following morning I discovered that pets were not included in the price, that cats are apparently not accepted, and I was charged an additional £18. This was frustrating because I had specifically asked about the pets and had been reassured that there was no problem. The information that cats are not accepted was also not clearly stated in the advert. Better communication about the pet policy and additional charges is needed.
Leuke locatie in mooi stadje
