Ausblick auf Bern
Pros:

Wir haben eine Nacht im Swissôtel Kursaal Bern verbracht und waren insgesamt zufrieden. Besonders positiv waren das sehr bequeme Bett, die ruhige Lage etwas erhöht über Bern und gleichzeitig die Nähe zur Innenstadt – zu Fuss waren wir in etwa 10 Minuten im Zentrum. Auch die Nespresso-Kaffeemaschine und die inkludierte Minibar waren angenehm.

Unser ursprünglich gebuchtes Standardzimmer war uns allerdings zu klein und zu dunkel und bot praktisch keinen Blick nach draussen. Vor Ort haben wir deshalb für lediglich CHF 30 ein Upgrade gebucht. Das hat sich definitiv gelohnt: Wir hatten ein Fenster, mehr Raumgefühl und etwas Aussicht.

Die Garage direkt am Hotel kostet CHF 30 pro Nacht. Sehr positiv hervorheben möchten wir ausserdem das Restaurant Giardino, in dem wir wirklich sehr gut gegessen haben.

Insgesamt eine gute Adresse für einen Aufenthalt in Bern – beim Zimmer würden wir allerdings eine höhere Kategorie als das Standardzimmer wählen.

Das Zimmer mit Fenster, aber "ohne direktes Tageslicht" war für uns schwierig. Das Fenster geht nicht etwa in einen Lichtschacht oder ähnliches, wie wir vermutet hätten, sondern öffnet in die Mitte des Hotels hinein, sodass man die Vorhänge die ganze Zeit geschlossen halten muss, sonst können einen Leute aus dem Flur oder dem gläsernen Aufzug, der direkt vor dem Fenster rauf- und runterfährt, hineinschauen. Auch tagsüber die Vorhänge dauerhaft geschlossen zu halten war deprimierend. Das Hotel ist ansonsten ok, aber diese Zimmer im Angebot verstehen wir nicht.

Great place for a stop over
Pros:

Close parking, the location was perfect allowing a walk across the bridge. Gym was excellent. Rooms very comfortable.

Cons:

Have to ask for extra pillows ( only 1 on bed) and robe/slippers or other amenities. While not a large issue was inconvenient for a short stay. iPad in room didn't retain charge and rooms we had, contained internal windows so room was dark.

L’emplacement de l’hôtel est parfait par rapport à centre-ville et l’accès à la balade au bord de l’Aare.
Nous avions réservé le brunch le samedi dès 11h et nous étions dans le jardin. C’était très bon et le lieu est charmant.

Cons:

Initialement nous avons voulu réserver l’hôtel avec le forfait brunch et nuitée en direct. Nous avons effectué une demande comme indiqué sur le site. Il a fallu plus de 24 heures et une relance par téléphone pour obtenir une réponse alors que le délai était court entre la demande et la date de réservation. Une proposition pour la chambre avec le forfait et le brunch a été faite. Nous avons immédiatement répondu en posant encore une question. Malheureusement nous n’avons eu la réponse par mail que le lendemain en fin d’après midi à nouveau après avoir dû appeler. Et la réponse a été qu’entre temps la chambre souhaitée n’était plus disponible. Cela n’est à notre sens pas très professionnel de laisser passer autant de temps pour répondre et ensuite ne pas tenir compte de l’offre réalisée. Nous avons dû réserver une autre option pour le brunch tout seul et nous avons réservé l’hôtel via Booking.
