10 year anniversary getaway in a heatwave!
Pros:

Coombe Abbey truly is a special place, the stunning setting, the beautiful historic building and grounds. All the staff go above and beyond for guests. My husband and I are very appreciative of how hard everyone was working, especially in a heatwave!. We stayed for two nights for our 10 year wedding anniversary, we wanted to stay in the Lady craven suite for two nights but it wasn't available for both dates. However the reservations team accommodated us with a feature room (which was beautiful ) for our first night and our second night, (our actual wedding anniversary) we were able to stay in the lady craven suite. The staff arranged for our bags to be taken for us to our new suite. The move was extremely smooth. Breakfast and both evening meals were delicious and the service from the staff was top notch. When a guest on another table became unwell due to the heat, the care and help given by the staff was wonderful, whilst still ensuring a smooth service to other guests in the restaurant.Very professional and kind!.I must also mention Anthony of Abbey Punts, the experience we had with him was magical! and his knowledge of the history of coombe is fascinating. Booking in with him is a must!.This was our third stay and definitely won't be our last!. Thankyou for a wonderful stay the Steed's

Beautiful Hotels for special occasions
Pros:

Excellent customer services.
The hotel was a dream as always.
We stayed in 5 different rooms, and everyone in our group fell in love with this place.
The garden restaurant was beautiful and breakfast was wonderful.

Cons:

There were so few lights in the room, after sunset it was really really dark..
Facilities... The hotel is really old, so understandable, but our shower was making a very loud noise when taking a shower..

Pros:

I loved being in Park Priory this time. This was my 2nd stay. 1st time i was in main hotel building in a beautifully upholstered, but small room, so I was surprised to find myself in a much larger room! It was lovely. Superbly comfy bed. Staff were v helpful & friendly, especially the Portuguese lady.

Cons:

The time taken to be served Afternoon Tea. We waited over an hour before waitress came to take our order, on a very warm day!

Beautiful setting
Pros:

A really beautiful hotel in very pretty setting. We had a lovely evening meal and huge room.
A few niggles - our toilet seat (underside) hadn’t been cleaned and had poo splatter, the tables were dirty outside and bar wasn’t serving outside. The set-up for breakfast is ridiculous - we all have to crowd in a small room to get toast, hot breakfast and drinks - really annoying and needs sorting.
We still enjoyed our stay and didn’t let things ruin it.

Beautiful setting, good food, Not so great hotel rooms
Pros:

Looks impressive but on the hotel side a lot could be improved. Hotel building itself lovely, gardens very impressive. Yes,we stayed in the heatwave. Rooms exceptionally & unbearable hot. Made it very uncomfortable. No drinking water supplied. Shower taps and sink taps very stiff. Lights flickering. Waterfall showers so impossible to shower without getting hair wet. Room not enough plugs. None near bedside. Had to borrow an extension lead. Pillows old and misshapen.
Only one luggage trolley for whole hotel.
Food very good. Staff very attentive. Not enough bar staff on duty.
We hired the court house for a meet and greet and gala dinner. Unbearable hot and no ice at the bar.
Location excellent ,Food and staff great, Rooms need vastly improving.

Hotel stay & Medieval Banquet
Pros:

What a fun evening at the Banquet.
Fun antics from the entertainment, superbly conducted around the 4 course meal.
Bawdy humour, well-rehearsed so as not to overstep the mark.
Kitchen and serving staff did an excellent job in ensuring our food was served hot & in a timely fashion. Plenty of tasty food accompanied by lager (Stella) & Red & white wine. Two bottles & a large jug of ale was plenty for 4.
Greeted by the team with a glass of lovely mead.
Dressing up was well worth doing - some people only wore headgear such as a fool’s hat. Finished off with a disco to round off the evening.
Hotel has marvellous character due to its age. Our room felt quite stately. There is a hairdryer & tea facilities. Only enhancement would be bottled water in the room.
Lovely tasty breakfast in the bright & airy Garden Room was the perfect finish to our stay. We found the reception & reception team to be friendly & welcoming!
Would love to go again!
