Wonderful afternoon tea. Thank you Ruby for making it so special
Location was lovely.
Room was very warm, air conditioning didn’t make any difference, needs an over haul.
Open window that help a little.
Treated my friend to afternoon tea for her birthday. Had been before so I thought I was confident that the Knights savoury would be a good choice. How disappointing. Tasteless and cheap is the only way I can describe it. The only thing that wasn't cheap was the price. Even the cheese scone was served with butter instead of cream. Whoever has decided to replace the original Knights with a cheap alternative has not done Coombe Abbey any favours. I for one will not be returning to be ripped off again.
Awesome stay at this lovely Hotel. The staff were always professional and helpful. The food was great as was the room (71) I will stay again when the opportunity arises. Thank you all for making the stay enjoyable.
We had a lovely meal in the evening.
Breakfast was ok. The fried egg had been stood too long and was therefore rubbery. Also the fruit near the yogurts needed some form of covering as with the doors to the conservatory open due to the hot summer weather it attracted insects
Nice landscaped gardens
The rooms were too dark and badly need updating. The two rooms I booked were dark, dingy and not modern. So plugging in usb sticks etc was not easy and there was limited storage space in bathroom and room to put things.
Spannendes Hotel.
The different things to see around every corner.
The wonderful building and pleasant staff.
The carpets and rooms are a little worn and require replacing in places.
the outside grounds
Having to pay for parking
Great Hotel with loads of character.
Car park to reception bit of a hike, could be fun in the rain.
Lovely scenery and decor. The grounds have beautiful parks and land, lovely on a sunny day. Lots of quiet outdoor space to relax
Very dark decor. I understood the theme but lighting was dark everywhere
Shower was broken so we had to adjust and make it work
My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It was excellent value. Strong wifi, comfortable bed, wonderful service, paying for parking was easy. The staff were very eager to please and offered all their services with a genuine smile. Make a point to see Anthony on his punting trip! He gives a lively history of the abbey and brings the place to life. We hope to come back soon!
we were upgraded the room was large and airy,
Ive been to better kept older properties. I didn't complain because I didn't get time as I needed to leave early in the morning - the bath room was not clean the bath had someone elses hair in it - lots of it! the bath mat was mouldy the fixings on the shower were loose and a too low but I understand the height to be because of the age of the property etc, customer check in was slow
Room was really big bed was very comfortable, everything clean .Only booked a standard double bug on arrival were told we were being upgraded because of a wedding. We were initially a bit annoyed as we’re looking for to staying in the main old building rather than newer area ,but after seeing both rooms it was a no brainer upgrade luxury family room was 3 times bigger and better,
Nothing not to like ,weddings were going on but didnt bother us as once in room could not hear a thing .Only thing is parking 12 pounds for 24 hours booking.com had it at 10 bit naughty on top of stay if you pay top dollar
The grandness of the property
The Berkeley suite was amazing
Comfortable bed
Lovely grounds and wildlife
The barman Ismail in the garden room bar was very rude, didn’t want to converse, banging glasses around and swearing.
He needs some customer service training. This was the only part that tainted our stay and it was reported at the property.
Breakfast was good
Very poor soundproofing - kept up all night with noise from other guest and conversations and pillows were rubbish! No air con. Lack of extras at reception if you forget something don’t hold your breath.
