Beautiful hotel best hotel I have ever stayed in.
It was perfect
What a hotel, absolutely amazing! I loved every part of it. 12th century. So much history and character. My double luxury room was spacious, including having a four poster bed, and grand antique furniture. The ensuite was large. I loved the high ceiling too. Such a peaceful and calming place to rest and sleep,
The breakfast buffet was delicious, perfect!
The staff were brilliant, very friendly and helpful. I must give a shout out to Bhargav, who was at reception when I checked in. He was very receptive, helpful, charming and professional. After settling in my room, he gave me a courtesy call to check if I was okay. How thoughtful and kind!
On the morning of checking out (Sun 17th May), the Asian lady (I'm so sorry I forgot her name!), was so nice pre-booking a taxi for me before checking out later. She was very nice and helpful. She worked alongside Bhargav that morning. Great combined service from them both.
Location and Food
Nothing
the slogan is : not an ordinairy hotel which covers it all. Old Abbey from 1050 orso with the original athmosphere and modern rooms. all good
It is a lovely building with so much history. Great walks too.
The suite i booked was changed without consulting me. Substitute suite was not acceptable so down graded to a standard room. Desk light not working and hot water was coming out of cold tap, so I couldn't have a drink of water in my room. A very poor visit at Coombe, extremely disappointed as have been there several times and always enjoyed my visit hence this special trip with an upgraded accommodation. Staff were great, just room & room maintenance let them down this time.
We expected a beautiful hotel, but we did not expect such an extraordinary place. The building, the interiors, and the park are truly exceptional. Everything about this hotel is remarkable: the staff is professional and welcoming, and both the bedroom and bathroom are extremely comfortable, elegant, and beautifully decorated.
The different lounge areas for relaxing and enjoying a drink are also very comfortable, and the veranda where meals are served is lovely. The dinner was excellent, and the breakfast offered a wide selection of delicious food.
A wonderful hotel to stay in — we will certainly come back.
Nothing!!
Brilliant location
Mold in room 223 bathroom
Coombe Abbey is a beautiful hotel however I would recommend staying in the main hotel (I’ve stayed in both the main building and the separate one). The grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed a walk round prior to attending a wedding there.
I stayed here for my own sisters wedding 4 years ago and my experience this time felt very different. The rooms in the separate building feel old and tired compared to the bedrooms in the main hotel. Considering we paid the same price as other guests who had incredible rooms it felt very disappointing. The room we had was very dark (not helped by light bulbs needing to be replaced) and the bathroom felt in need of some TLC.
