Not much
Room was dirty, smelled like a dogs anal glands, dog hair all over the bed, smelled like mildew in the room, bed is broken
The hotel is actually nicer than a 3 star rating. The room was clean and the beds are super comfortable. We were in close proximity to the Calgary stampede and it was not expensive at all. The only reason this did not get a 5 star review is because the service is absolute garbage. Terrible terrible experience with staff. We got back from the stampede passed midnight and the doors passed the vestibule are locked and you must pass your key card to open them, however the doors were noticeably broken. The top part of the door sat on the sill while the bottom was pushed 3 inches inward. The tongue of the door was not set in the groove, you can physically see it wedged on the inside of the door. We tried anyways thinking the lock would retreat after scanning our card and the door would still open, but no, you could hear the mechanism working but the latch would not budge. Tried again nothing. There was a security guard probably less than 20 feet away just staring at us but not coming over as we were waving at him and telling him the door was open. He looked at the receptionist who murmured something and then he decided not to come. There is a phone in the vestibule to call the desk in case there was a problem. I picked it up and she let it ring for about 30 rings refusing to answer it. When she finally picked up she answered by saying "the door isn't broken you are just doing it wrong" I explained that the door was in fact broken and she was adamant that it was not so we tried again a few times. It was obviously not going to work because it was physically broken. So I hung up and we started yelling in the vestibule so finally after about 5 solid minutes the guard decides to come look, remember he was literally less than 20 feet from the door maybe even less than 15 and refused to budge. Super lazy in my opinion. When he got to the door he saw it was in fact broken. He pushed it open for us. No sorry. No "my bad", nothing. Just silence on his part. The receptionist proceeded to give us dirty looks without any sense of responsibility when I informed her that the door was in fact broken. Just writing this makes me feel like giving the hotel 1 star. But I don't think the whole hotel should be held responsible for the sh***y actions of 2 really bad employees.
Friendly staff, ideal location, nice amenities (pool/hot tub, complimentary fresh coffee in the a.m), beautiful and clean lobby area.
My family rented a King suite.. the room was dated and in dire need of a refresh. There was black mold on the bathroom wall, a broken pocket door--making privacy in the king suite non existent, wall trim was peeling and in need of sanding and repainting. Room 414 just really needs some love and attention to bring it back up to the standard my family was expecting. Additionally, the king bed was so incredibly hard it made sleeping
uncomfortable.
The location is good. Two restaurants are attached to the property.
Very outdated rooms. Dirty wallpaper: chipped old furniture; rusted bathtub faucets..The rooms need a total renovation and people should NOT be charged top dollar. There are other much better hotels in the area..such as the Holiday Inn close by.
The first floor decoration and it was so clean and fresh
N/a
The staff offered us an upgrade and that was very thoughtful and kind. The resteraunt attached was lovely. Great location!
In our upgraded room, the room/bed was extremely warm upstairs and we ended up needing to switch back to a suite with one level. Also, TV's you could not mirror your own Netflix. (google screening would be appreciated)
It was convenient to the places I wanted to shop at
Bed was too soft for me
Proximity to restaurants and stores,
Room with balcony facing grassland hill
Quiet
My bathroom had a mouldy smell emanating from the sink drain. Heating and cooling system was too loud to sleep with it powered on. Pool was very small and pool room was poorly ventilated so had a very strong chlorine smell, so I didn’t use it.
Location
Room was a bit smaller than I expected for 4 of us.
Staff were friendly and accommodating
Nothing really.
Always have friendly staff
Kept very clean
3 good restaurants connected
Could be a bit cheaper, but I do believe the value is fair for what I am given
Location was prime. Close to everything you would need! Walmart, SuperStore, restaurants. And easy to get to where we needed to be. I also liked that this hotel had a room where each of the kids had their own bed and the parents had a separate room to sleep in.
They closed the hot tub and could not tell us why.
Room was clean, beds were comfy, staff very friendly.
The waitress we had in the Dennys diner was amazing and hilarious.
Nothing :)
There was no breakfast sadly. That would be convenient. At least some muffins and bagels. The hotel is clean and near lots of shopping and food. Checkin was quick.
We were given a room looking out onto a dingy rooftop. Maybe because we used a booking service for a better rate???
