Hotel Riviera & Maximilians

We stayed at Hotel Riviera & Maximilian’s as a family and enjoyed the seaside location and relaxed atmosphere. The setting felt calm and suitable for spending time together, with easy access to the water and pleasant views. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the overall experience felt well organized and unhurried. A nice option for families looking for a peaceful stay near the coast.

Stayed here for 3 nights while working in town. Super smooth pleasant check in with loads of free parking. I only ate at breakfast which was ok. It’s pretty remote so transport is needed unless you plan to stay at the hotel all day. Really good room and service all round.

This is the perfect hotel. Lovely grounds with an elevator down to the beach club. We just walked down a few steps and were swimming in the sea. Also, both the breakfast and dinner were outstanding.

Fantastiskt

We stumbled upon this gorgeous resort last minute after changing some plans and deciding we wanted to do a couple of days at the beach. We stayed 2 nights in a suite int he Maximilian building. All I can say is WOW! The suite itself was modern, clean, and comfortable. There were some high end touches, like thick robes and slippers. The suite had a full kitchenette with refrigerator, wine cooler, dishes, etc. There was a table and a small sofa that could be converted to a bed. The view from the balcony was incredible. We extended by one night and had to move to a regular room in the main hotel building. It also had a stunning view and was very nice! The staff was wonderful. On our last night we had to leave at 4 AM to catch a flight out of Venice and the staff actually prepared a to-go breakfast bag for us. That was such a lovely touch!
The beach club is amazing! Beach beds, umbrellas and towels at their private beach club are included with the stay. There is a full casual restaurant and bar at the beach club with a great menu. It think it is called a snack bar, but they have more offerings than a typical snack bar. The staff and bartender were very nice! We enjoyed lunches there. There are concrete steps into the ocean, which is great if you have ever been to a beach in Italy and had to climb slippery rocks to get in the water. One note - there is not a pool. Hotels.com says they have a pool - but that is not the case. I think the penthouse suite might have a private plunge pool, but there is not a pool for the hotel.
The included breakfast was very good. It is served on their terrace with an absolutely breathtaking view of the ocean everywhere you look. Dinner is served there as well. One thing to note - dinner at the hotel restaurant , Le Terraze, is very upscale and is expensive. We did one dinner there. We enjoyed it (see my review of the restaurant) - just be aware! It also closes at 10 PM - which is a bit early by Italian standards! If you have a car with you, there are a few other restaurants in the area, or you could head to Trieste where there are tons of great restaurants! It can be tricky to get a cab or Uber from the hotel, but the front desk can always call you a taxi.
We did not try the spa, but I hope to in the future!
One thing to note - there is an elevator down to the beach, which is amazing - but there are still a lot of stairs, including stars to get to the elevator for the beach - so if someone has any mobility issues, it could be difficult for them. The main hotel building includes the lobby and the restaurant, including breakfast. The suites are in a building across the street from the main hotel. There are elevators in both buildings.
We had a wonderful stay here and hope to visit again!

I det stora hel ett bra hotell, men det finns lite att önska med tanke på priset (nästan 6000kr/natt för en familj på 3 personer). Vi hade önskat en mer tillgänglig bar eller lounge, nu fanns möjlighet att beställa ett visst urval av dryck i hotellets restaurang under dagen så det var inget jätteproblem men det hade varit ett plus i våra ögon.
Frukosten bra/okej - vi hade önskat tex handsprit vid ingången och lite mer ordentliga ”verktyg” att plocka bland annat frukt med då de vanliga skedarna som fanns lätt åkte ner i skålen vilket inte kändes fräscht. Hade också önskat fler varma alternativ, men i det stora hela en bra frukost.
Det gick ej att reglera kylan på rummet, vi upplevde rummet som kallt och dragit från ACn och hade önskat att det gick att reglera/stänga av den.
Vi fick inga nya glas på rummet efter att vi använt de glas som fanns, kanske en miss från städpersonalen men ändå något som gjorde att det drog ner helhetsbetyget.
Gällande placeringen så kan förstås inte hotellet påverka omgivningen, men det fanns ingen supermarket eller annan restaurang i närheten så bil är egentligen ett måste här. Vi hade också filtrerat på att endast visa hotell med pool innan vi bokade, men det fanns inte här - det är dock en miss på hotels.com och inget hotellet ska tyngas för.
All personal på hotellet var väldigt trevliga och servicen var bra - förutom på restaurangen. Där hade åtminstone en del av personalen en hel del att lära från vissa av sina kolleger gällande service.

Beautiful hotel 15 minutes from Trieste with a beach club in front accessed by an elevator. Deluxe rooms are very spacious with a huge balcony and sublime view. Excellent housekeeping and maintenance. The evening restaurant had very small portions so was disapointing. Excellent spa.

When you are looking for the best hotel for couples in Trieste you found it. Beautiful scenery, sounds of the Sea and beach as a part of the hotel. What else ? Beautifull terrase with magnificient view and top Staff of the hotel is the right choice for you. Parking is for free and you could come also with electric car 😎

Trevlig personal och fint hotell med fantastisk utsikt!

Since reviews seemed to be mixed was not sure what to expect but was delightfully surprised by how nice the hotel was. It was pleasant to be out of the hustle bustle of Trieste but easy enough to drive there. Getting to Miramar Castle on foot was a little complicated but doable. We thought the breakfasts were quite good, did not try the dinners. I recommend a room with a balcony- so lovely to look out over the water and have a place to sit outside in peace. There is a bar on the patio and gardens going down the hill slope but we really did not frequent any of that. I would highly recommend this place!

Hotel Riviera offers some spacious, clean and luxurious rooms overlooking the Adriatic. The hotel is very close to Trieste city centre and is perfectly located if you want to visit Trieste and the region. It also offers a good restaurant if you don’t want to drive during the evenings. However, breakfast is very average (orange juice is made from squash which seems insane in Italy).

Beautiful hotel. Fantastic levels of service. Free upgrade. Room was spacious comfortable and a wonderful view. Crazy lift down to the sea and private deck.
Superb food.

Posizione favolosa, ottimo personale alla reception, la camera che mi è stata assegnata aveva dei piccoli problemi con il funzionamento dell’aria condizionata e con il frigo bar, che sono stati risolti. Buona la colazione servita sulla terrazza. Il servizio ristorante un po’ lento, anche se nell’attesa puoi goderti il mare, comunque là qualità del cibo è molto buona.
