OK for Golf
Pros:

The hotel is quite worn and not particularly clean, the food is average, service same, the golf is very busy and the courses quite challenging. The Suffolk area is very pretty. Go for the golf but the hotel is not much of a draw.

Great staff, good food. Would stay again.
Pros:

Took my two sons for a birthday celebration.
Room was big, clean, lots of toiletries, teas coffee biscuits etc.
Spa was nice, swim, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. Reserved beds to chill out a bonus.
A nice outside area to have drinks and look over the golf course.
Food in the restaurant really good and breakfast everything you could want. A nice touch of a birthday dessert for my son.
Staff all really friendly and welcoming from reception to the bar and restaurant.
Not 5 stars as a few things need a little TLC but overall we had a great time.
I'd definitely return.

Friends spa day and overnight stay
Pros:

Had a spa day here last week and 5 of us stayed over night .
Spa from start to finish is so welcoming .
You have a welcome drink on arrival and are allocated a table in the bistro for the day .
We all had one amazing treatment which was included in price .
Sadly on booking we were unable to add extra treatments as full up .
Booked a few months before, next year will book earlier to get a second treatment in each .,
Lunch in the bistro was lovely with choice of afternoon tea , salad or ploughman’s , again hot drink included and glass of Prosecco .

Check in was easy and they had looked after our luggage for us from arrival in the morning .

We had 2 rooms , one had 3 single beds in and there was plenty of room with a good size bathroom.
Rooms were very clean but I little tired .
I did see that they are starting to refurbish some which is good .

In the evening we chose the bar menu , plenty to choose from and we sat out on the terrace which was lovely .

Breakfast the next morning was lovely , with so much choice .

The one thing that really stood out visiting here , were all the staff and how friendly they were and went above any beyond , never stayed anywhere so friendly and accommodating.

We only went for a night but all said we felt like we had had a mini break away .
We have decided to make this an annual friends trip , hopefully fitting in another treatment each next year and possibly another night 😀.

100% recommend and would not visit any other spa now .

Thank you from all of us

Awful, unpleasant and quite terrible.
Pros:

Absolutely nothing.

Cons:

Here’s a concise, strongly worded review:

Very disappointed with this hotel. It was dirty, run down, and nothing like the spa hotel it claims to be. The air conditioning in our room was broken, and instead of fixing it, we were simply told that fans had been placed in the rooms. The bathroom was in a terrible state, with broken tiles and such poor cleanliness that it wasn’t even fit for a dog groomer’s. The breakfast room was disgustingly dirty, which made eating there very unpleasant. Overall, the hotel is in desperate need of renovation and much higher standards of cleanliness. I would not recommend staying here.

If you’d like, I can also make it sharper while keeping it factual to reduce the risk of it being removed by the review platform.

Decent place
Pros:

It’s a massive huge property spread across many acres. Had stayed for four nights at a penthouse in apple tree lodges which is a good 10 minutes walk from the main reception. Overall, a beautiful property. Food at all three restaurants are also good. Staff such as John who has repaired our room’s clogged shower head, Jasmine at the front desk, Bonnie at the pizza restaurant and Alzuro at the lakes restaurant stood out for their hospitality during those four day stay. Golf course looked well maintained. The lake need to be cleaned regularly to provide even better experience. We did spot many Hare and Deer during the stay. Overall, a beautiful place to stay.

Disappointing
Pros:

Disappointing stay my husband paid over £600 for a couples spa break for 1 night.
Felt really let down it was for our anniversary no mention of this when we arrived, our room was awful dark and dated with odd furniture, as they where renovating room they had clearly moved furniture into our room that did not belong there! The balcony was like a prison with a view of the car park!
The spa was like a cattle farm sun loungers all stuck together no room to move. No view outside very small area. We ordered drinks over a 40 minute wait to arrive and costing £18! For 1 beer 1 wine.
My treatment was at 4pm the lady greeted me 10 minutes late saying it’s been a long day. It was rushed and she couldn’t wait to finish. I did not get my full 55 min it was more 40 minutes truly let down not feeling relaxed at all!!!. She said they had been too busy.
Dinner was nice that is all I will say but there were flies. The breakfast was cold it was a buffet.
For the money I would not recommend there are better spas. Such a shame.

Worth considering.
Pros:

A lovely hotel with great facilities and exceptionally polite and helpful staff except in the sports bar which seemed understaffed. We were a group of 16 there for two days of golf. Very good food in the restaurant with remarkably polite and helpful staff. Rooms were very good and clean. Only reason I dropped to 4 stars was the inconsistency of the bunkers, some had sand some had hardly any and the liner was showing on quite a few. The course was very dry so rock hard but both courses were a gem and would certainly go back to play but hopefully not in the middle of a drought. If they sort the bunkers out it would be an exceptional place to go and play, unfortunately no one can predict the weather.
