Pros:

Other reviews have complained about the staff here but actually they seemed one of the few good things about this place; professional, polite and apologetic - and there was a fair bit to be apologetic for. This place, as they are keen to remind you, is a BOUTIQUE hotel. I’ve actually worked in boutique hotels before and so know that “boutique” is actually a code-word meaning tiny and cramped and a little shoddy, but with a thick layer of modish make-up to convince a certain type of person that these are actually bohemian and authentic or something. As soon as you make a booking you receive an email to tell you that because this is a BOUTIQUE hotel, this establishment has no windows. An interesting formulation. Well, I can live without windows. Or, at least I thought I could, before arriving at the place. As soon as you open the door you are affronted by a wall of conditioned air so heavily scented as to singe the nostrils. Beneath this heavy and sickly perfume - and one imagines the cause of it - you can still detect the scents of mildew and drains it is intended to mask. It is like having your nose rammed up hard against the armpit of a decrepit and unwashed whore who has drenched herself in EDT to try and mask the smell. The smell persists as you move up to your room and is detectable, still lingering there, so that everything you eat and drink tastes of it - which is where the absence of windows becomes a problem. The really sad thing is that for the sort of demented idiots who would actually choose to stay at this place by choice - it is right in the middle of a grotesque area full of the tattiest of tourist tat, interspersed with little outposts of the ever-expanding international caliphate of massively overpriced Pakistani convenience stores - this would actually be registered as somehow a good thing, somehow authentic and bohemian, along with the 2002 IKEA range in which the place is furnished, the bordello-blue and oxblood brown of the colour scheme.

Cons:

Anyhow, it wasn't too terrible. The receptionist gave me a fan to use as the air-con wasn't working properly. And allowed me to use his fridge. So I survived it. But I wouldn't recommend.
