La Magnolia Hotel Sorrento

We had a fabulous break in Sorrento. Our accommodation was very central, it was less than a 5 minute walk to the centre. It was very clean and cosy. Claudio was amazing, the perfect host. He was very kind and attentive. He supplied us with plenty of recommendations of things to do and places to eat. We would love to return some day.

Absolute gem of a property. Claudio is a total delight and runs a wonderful small hotel a half block off Piazza Tasso, in the exact center of the city and ideal location at the entrance of the pedestrian center. Charming room, wonderful little garden deck, fantastic communication, and a big personality from a host happy to chat and do everything it takes to assure a great experience for his guests. An ideal choice.

This hotel was converted from a family home into a small hotel. My room, on the main floor, had a small terrace (perfect for breakfast). The owner is unbelievably kind- showed me around town when I arrived and always made sure I had what I needed (including arranging a transport to Naples when my ferry was canceled due to sea conditions). It’s just steps away from the main Piazza Tasso, but feels intimate and quiet. Anything you want to do in Sorrento- you can walk there from this hotel. Highly recommend! Just know that the espresso machine in the lobby is a bit loud if you’re a light sleeper!

Lovely hotel that is was converted from a family home. The proprietor, Claudio, is incredibly kind and quick with suggestions and even walked me around town when I first arrived to help me learn my way around. Only drawback is that the walls are somewhat thin so I could hear it every time someone made a caffè in the lobby.

We truly enjoyed our stay and the place hotel was in a very convenient area located near all the restaurants, shops and ports. We were very surprised that the unit we were in did not have a window, I know... who thinks to ask if the room has a window? There is no one there to ask questions and there was no laundry or breakfast available as stated on the website. These was a coffee machine, but it didn't work. All in all I would stay there again, but I think the website should better represent what's available.

The room and hotel was well positioned, clean and well appointed. The most special thing about our stay was our host Claudio! He was more than warm, welcoming and knowledgeable, Claudio went out of his way to ensure we had the best experience of Sorrento possible. No enquiry we made was left unattended. Parking, dining, boat trips to Capri, hanging out - he provided insider information about it all. Unforgettable!! Thank you Claudio🙏

This is not a "hotel" as you would usually think of one. It is more of a serviced apartment. We had to call a number to check in, and were lucky that the lady doing the cleaning was in the building to help us get checked in. The front desk is not really staffed as you might expect. The room was tiny as was the bathroom. No room to set up your toiletries.
The location is great! Only a half block to the main piazza, and easy to walk to most of Sorrento's main attractions, restaurants and shopping. Our stay was fine, but I probably would choose a more traditional hotel next time with more amenities and services.

Great place, AMAZING! location exactly in the center of Sorrento, clean and comfortable room. Very friendly and kind host, gave us the feeling that we are really in vacation and don't need to worry about anything.

The location is perfect, the owner was very helpful and nice. The accommodation areas were perfectly clean and comfortable. Also the furniture and equipment were in perfect shape. We did not find any disadvantages. Price is also according the accommodation quality.

Overall, wonderful. Clean, spacious, well-equipped and tasteful room, extremely helpful and interesting manager Claudio, perfect location nestled between the historical centre and the train/bus hub, close to the seaside. Would love to have more sockets and better soundproofing, but: (a) it's a modest hotel rated as such and (b) - I remember a lovely and very safe place to recharge after Sorrento adventures, because Sorrento will definitely excite you!

La Magnolia was located a few steps away from Piazzo Tasso close to everything we needed such as grocery stores, shopping, marinas, restaurants. The room and bathroom were spacious and comfortable. The best surprise was the host/manager, Claudio, who welcomed us like family in this 7 room family run hotel. He familiarized us with Sorrento and made us feel like instant friends. Claudio showed us around, gave us excellent tips on where to eat authentic foods and best value for shopping and introduced us to shop and restaurant owners that made our experience exceptional. We can't rave enough about Claudio and La Magnolia. It is intimate and quiet after a busy day of activities and easy walking from the train station.

Claudio is a superb host, always doing all he can to assure his guests enjoy their time in Sorrento.

We had a lovely stay at La Magnolia. The location was excellent and was just a short walk to the main centre of Sorrento. Our room was 'city view' which was overlooking a main street and could get quite noisy, but that didn't really bother us and could be blocked out when the windows closed. It was well equipped with everything we needed. The owner Claudio couldn't have been more helpful with suggestions of where to eat, best family restaurants, ice-cream outlets, trips etc. Even on our last day he took the time to walk to the station with us to make sure we knew which bus to catch back to the airport. We thoroughly enjoyed Sorrento and would certainly recommend staying at this hotel. Many thanks Claudio!

We chose La Magnolia because of its central position in Sorrento, and the location is indeed perfect, adjacent to the main square. It is expensive, but not by Sorrento standards which is a very expensive place (and a delightful one).

It is important to realise it is not a conventional hotel, but seven rooms in what was a family home. There are virtually no communal facilities, no on-site presence most of the time, and the servicing of our room was not the best. Breakfast was not provided, but that was fine as there are several places close by serving good breakfasts.

On arrival we were greeting by Claudio, a charming host who was keen to suggest various places to eat. However we found other ones we preferred. Our room was quite small but had a lovely balcony on which we enjoyed G&Ts with our friends. The bed was comfortable (the pillows less so) and we slept well. The wi-fi worked well enough, but we would have liked to have more plug sockets. But you can't have everything in an old and characterful building.

Overall, an enjoyable stay, a safe option, and the location trumps everything.

The location is excellent, a short walk from the train station, great restaurants and unique shops. The room was very comfortable and had the most wonderful terrace! Claudio, the proprietor went above all expectations to help us have a memorable stay. He arranged a boat trip, helped with car rentals, recommended restaurants and brought us to a beautiful inlay wood store. This is a A+ hotel. We will definitely be back.

La Magnolia Sorrento is well location near the center of Sorrento: 6 mins walk from the bus station, 1 mins from Piazza Tasso, next door to hotel is a little fresh grocery store of fruits, vegetables, breads and cheeses etc for snacks and breakfast items, a wine store, and a excellent pizza and pasta restaurant. 6-8 mins you can walk to Piazza Antonio and walk down to the ferry station or take a lift down.
It is also well located to many restaurants , shopping and little grocery stores.
The hotel room and washroom are spacious and clean. There is a coffee machine in the lobby for the guests to use. All the items listed on the website are accurate. The daily cleaning services was excellent.
Claudio provided us with information of where to eat good food. He is on point with following up on your enquiries and needs. He gave us the best concierge services of a 5 Star Hotel. He goes over and beyond your expectations.
