Kindness and grace in the middle of Hanoi

May De Ville Hotel is the friendliest hotel that we have ever stayed in. From the moment we arrived after a long, stressful flight we felt at home, with friends. Everyone in this hotel (reception staff, restaurant staff, room attendants and the doormen) are commited to ensure your stay is totally special. We were treated with kindness and consideration throughout our two stays separated by a visit to the incredible Ha Long Bay.
We are especially grateful to Ms Lucky for organising our trip to Ha Long Bay and the wonderful reception staff, Ms Bora etc and everyone involved with welcoming us and booking our tours. Thanks also for arranging our upgrade on our upgrade! Our room was splendid .My huband loved his birthday treat.
We enjoyed sunset drinks on the rooftop and meals in the restaurant. The breakfast was a highlight served with the best view of Hanoi!
We have loved staying in this hotel and hope to return.

Great stay, great location
Pros:

Close location to everything, yet was pleasantly surprised no noise coming from the street and bars below, compared to our other stays in Hanoi in other hotels. Hotel was peaceful and quiet for a good nights sleep.

Lily our waitress at breakfast was fabulous and lucky on reception was welcoming and warm. Thank you to all the staff. They offer such kindness, warmth and are friendly.

Sehr entspannt - schöne 8 Tage in Hanoi
Pros:

Die Lage war außergewöhnlich. Man ist direkt in der Altstadt und auch direkt am Hoan Kiem See. Das Personal war auch sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit!

Pros:

The staff here are incredibly helpful. They helped me get a tour that met my schedule, pointed me at nearby restaurants for the specific foods I was looking for and accommodated my late train departure by holding luggage after checkout and letting me get a shower in the evening before leaving. The room and breakfast were as you expect from a 5 star hotel.

Cons:

No disappointments were had. Maybe if I had stayed more than 1 night I would have noticed something.

Very central location in the middle of the Old Quarter. Walking distance to the night market and other sights. Lots of restaurants and spa shops near by. Fine rooms with comfortable beds. Good selection of food for breakfast. We were welcomed with a refreshing towel and a drink on arrival, and a complimentary early check in on arrival. Attentive and helpful staff, who can help you to arrange sightseeing tours. Prepare for a slightly higher fee than if you book it yourself.
We enjoyed the SPA quality too.
Lovely roof top bar with a great view of Hanoi.

Cons:

Very noisy air conditioning in the room. Could not sleep without earplugs.
Bathroom could use some maintaining.
