It was close to my business. There were very good paths for jogging in the evening. The breakfast was good.
My room faced the main road and the car noise did wake me in the morning around 4AM. I ate in the restaurant each night. I wish there were more salad options. I tried to choose healthy meals but it was not easy. Wish hotel had gym facilities.
I liked the scenery, food and drinks were good and staff was ok
The rooms are a little to small, we were both struggling to walk around the bed! Also when we got there, we noticed it wasn't the cleanest but far from the worst! As soon as we got to our room, we noticed hairs on our clean towels, the bed side tables were dusty etc
Early checkin facilitated. Just a nice place.

Secure a car parked at the back really handy at no extra charge like some other hotels around Gatwick area
Restaurant was quite dark not much choice really food we went to a pub down the road very nice the Angel inn
We have stayed quite a few times and always enjoy our stays. Lovely room with shower which I had requested . The outside patio area is lovely to sit with a drink and the weather was great so very welcome to be able to sit overlooking the river.
The bed we had sloped a bit which made it difficult to get comfy.
We always eat in the restaurant and usually happy with the meals and it was disappointing this time to have quite tough chicken in my burger.
The breakfast was well organised and we were able to self select items. The view of the river was lovely with birds to observe. The staff were helpful .Our room was spacious and the bathroom spotless.
As it was so hot we could bot use the duvet. It might be an idea in these heat waves to offer a flat top sheet. The shower over the bath was good but being slippery and curved, a mat would have been a safe option.
Air conditioning!
The location was good for me to see my family who live in ferndown. And we have stayed here often.
They could have been a bottle of water put in each room . And two packs of biscuits too. Instead of one pack.
So friendly, clean, welcoming, nothing is to much trouble for the staff , fantastic views , air conditioning a dream excellent stay altogether thank you
Nothing
Location
Only 1 pack of biscuits between two for a 4 night stay.
Veranda not swept regularly. Very large spider webs not removed from gazebo’s for 4 days. Layers of dirt under glass tops of tables on veranda.
Getting to talk to someone on the phone with a simple question before booking and not be routed to an automated service was a huge thing.
The desk welcome and simple check in was invaluable after a long and tiring journey to get here.
The room was wonderfully cooled by air conditioning, the cotton sheets and comfy bed, tea and coffee facilities were all we needed to feel comfortable to rest straight away.
Breakfast was easy, assisted by the friendly staff, a quiet, pleasant dinner, and a stroll over the bridge to admire the swans and fish ended a great day.
Check in / out was efficient and staff were all friendly.
Plenty of parking available.
We got upgraded (as a Best Western Platinum member) to a river view which was definitely a lovely surprise.
The room was clean and very spacious, and the fact there was an air conditioning unit (during the hot weather) was such a bonus. Bed was very comfortable and the bathroom spacious. There was a kettle and tea/coffee provided (with a good selection of teas).
Lovely location next to the River Stour. Saw swans, fish, and egret, dragon flies. Had a lovely late dinner overlooking the river and surrounding fields.
Breakfast was a good variety of hot and cold options.
Would recommend
What a gorgeous spot! Popped in here for a quick meeting, staff were very friendly, professional and polite, we sat in the club room which was quiet and ideal for colleagues to chat, we ordered two light sandwiches, ham and beef, which were both very tasty and hit the spot, there was outdoor seating too overlooking the river, plenty of parking at the back. What a hidden gem! Will definitely be back
This was the third year we visited your wonderful hotel. As we visit the Bournemouth Bus Rally.
Room are great as are the breakfast.
Hopefully will be visiting soon.
Staff are friendly and helpful. Please pass on my thanks to them. Looking forward to my next visit.
Lovely setting on river... relaxing and friendly staff .. room very clean and comfortable overlooking rivers and wildlife...
Near airport so a bit noisey.. slept very well though.. would stay here again
Nice bed linen and towels, good AC and parking.
Bed very uncomfortable and noise from the road, room small, slippery bath no handrail or bath mat for inside the bath or grips to stop slipping
