A Very Special Thank You ❤️
We honestly cannot thank the Wookey Hole Hotel and all of their incredible staff enough for how they looked after our family.
We had planned a two-week camping holiday with my husband and our three children, with just one night booked at the Wookey Hole Hotel before heading off to camp. Unfortunately, our van broke down and had to be towed into the hotel car park. What we thought would be a temporary problem quickly became clear to be something much more serious — our van was completely broken and wouldn't start again.
We ended up having to cut our holiday short and, after everything we'd planned, face the long tow all the way back home to Derbyshire. It was incredibly disappointing and stressful, especially with three children.
But in the middle of what could have been a really awful experience, the team at Wookey Hole Hotel were absolutely incredible. ❤️
They allowed us to stay in our room later than planned while we tried to sort everything out, and when it became clear that our van wasn't going anywhere, they went above and beyond and offered us an extra night's stay at a reduced cost.
Every single member of staff we came across was so kind, understanding and genuinely caring. They made sure we were okay, nothing felt like too much trouble, and they really went out of their way to make a difficult situation that little bit easier.
The breakfast was amazing, the hotel was lovely, but what really stood out was the people. They made us feel looked after, valued and, somehow, like we were part of the Wookey Hole family rather than just guests.
When you're dealing with the disappointment of a holiday being cut short, a broken-down van and the prospect of being towed all the way back to Derbyshire, that level of kindness means more than we can put into words.
So, from our whole family, thank you, Wookey Hole Hotel. ❤️
Thank you for turning what could have been a complete holiday disaster into an experience we'll remember for all the right reasons.
You have an absolutely wonderful team, and you should be incredibly proud of them. We won't forget your kindness, and we will absolutely be recommending you to everyone we know.
Thank you for looking after our family and making us feel so welcome. ❤️

The location and the room
The restaurant, It was shabby and unappealing. the menu was unattractive and so was the delivery arrangements.
First time visiting Somerset and wow what a beautiful place, wanted a hotel that was close to drive to cheddar gorge but out of the way. Upon arrival had no idea the hotel was apart of an attraction and the local caves here are breathtaking!
Was greeted by a lovely lady (Dianne) whom was polite, professional and just really pleasant to talk with. Come evening we were greeted by such a lovely bubbly character, who would stop and give you the time of their busy shift, on knowledge of local area and just general communication. I believe their name was Craig. Himself and Dianne both had fantastic knowledge and insight about the places we wanted to visit.
The rooms are spacious, clean and the beds are comfy.
We would 110% be coming back, as it’s peaceful, not hearing the bustle of cars and just listening to the birds is what you expect from the Somerset countryside.
For the time of the year it is great value for money, especially where we have travelled from the Isle of Wight, so finding affordable accommodation with today climate we live in was just great! It’s just a price we’d be happy to pay again and again. The only thing I would say is the menu for the restaurant could possibly have a 3/4 more items for adults to give a little more variety but to be honest it’s not a problem with what you have on the menu, just personal preference, the food is nice from what we had on our first night. It’s a shame to be leaving such a beautiful county let alone a peaceful hotel.
I liked the really comfortable bed and the beautiful surroundings also the relaxed atmosphere
Could be a little cleaner and updated but beds towels and service very good. I felt very relaxed here
