Pros:

Staff in the reception, bar and restaurant were really good, helpful and went out of their way to accommodate requests

Cons:

Cleaning of the room was poor, beds not made, cups not cleaned, bathroom bin not emptied, we dropped an envelope, it went under the bed when we bent down to pick it up their were bottle tops and general rubbish under it.

A good value for money stay.
Pros:

A nice big room and very comfy bed with super clean bedding and towels. Reception staff were very pleasant.

Cons:

The shower screen leaked water down the side of the bath when showering leaving a very wet floor. The shower nozzle was fixed and angled so it pointed more outwards than downwards and that also made over~spray over the floor in a small way too. I feel the shower wall would benefit from a grab handle to assist with getting in and out of the tub because the glass shower screen shouldn’t really be used to aid balance.

Cons:

Disabled access room did not have a net curtain for privacy. No shelving or storage space or towel hanging facility in shower room. Bed on castors so nearly slipped off bed. These items were reported to the staff and were acted upon.

Room ok Food very poor.
Pros:

The room was large and clean. It contained everything you needed.
I would suggest a rubber bath mat for the shower.
There is no where to grab on to to get in and out. Bath very slippery. Very good shower.

Cons:

The FOOD.
The breakfast was probably the worse we have had in the many hotels we have stayed in.
We went down at 8.45 to find no yoghurt or decent fruit. There were a couple of apples and pears and that was it.
The bacon looked undercooked and the scrambled eggs were tasteless.
Remember to book a breakfast time when you book in or there could be a problem fitting you in.
The girl on duty did fit us in but laboured the point of the booking time.
The reception did not mention this to us on the initial booking in procedure. Luckily we only had the one night and will not be going back.

Good but improvements needed
Pros:

Location was excellent. Just minutes walk to wookey hole caves.
Rooms were clean and comfy and staff were very helpful and friendly.

Cons:

The breakfast could be improved.
Kept running out of plates and food, meaning guests needed to wait around.
Seemed very unorganised at times.
Coffee machine produced very weak coffee and chocolate drinks, resulting in tasteless drinks.

Great stay over, on our way to Cornwall
Pros:

Near to Wells and the caves. Nicely situated and clean and comfortable for a night’s stay. A clean, no frills hotel at a reasonable price. We got a lovely warm welcome at the reception.

Only issue we had was no cold water coming out of was basin tap but a jug of iced water was provided.
