Was a wonderful stay as always .
Pros:

In a lovely position , so convenient and close to everything . We have been here several times and wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

Cons:

Would prefer it if it wasn’t dog friendly. Wasn’t keen on being woken up by a dog in the middle of the night.

It was a great few days spent in York, hotel was great in everything one needed, so close to entrance to inner city wall
Pros:

It was in a great location, easy to find, very clean, staff were great, breakfast was of a great choice, rooms very nice size, overall a great place to stay and would recommend it

No much space in car parking

3rd floor room needs updating
Pros:

Great city centre location, clean, wonderful staff and cookies on arrival 😀 Breakfast was good.

Cons:

Air-conditioning unit in room hardly worked. Bathroom overhaul is a must. Very spacious but poor shower over bath unit. Lots of water damaged paintwork and no extraction fan.
For a premium price it wasn't a premium room

Good location, great staff, in an average hotel
Pros:

Appreciate I have only provided 3* - the hotel was fine for our stay, but was an average hotel, some good, some compromised elements.
Firstly, our check in experience was good, Tophan on reception was super helpful. We temporarily parked our car in the car park and unloaded whilst Tophan sorted our stay out. We chose not to use the car park as it looked full (limited spaces) and we could park it at our Son’s, saving the £25 a night rather than risking getting a space (first come first served). There is a nearby carpark which is similarly priced.
Location is good, just by the ancient city wall and therefore only a short walk into town.
The room was on the small side. It looked out into the internal courtyard which turned out to be a bonus as the air conditioning unit was turned off (confusing), therefore we slept with the window open (the hotel is next to a fairly busy road - recommend trading a potential view of the ancient wall for an internal room so you can have some quiet whilst you are sleeping. Luckily it wasn’t too warm. There was a fan in the room which helped.
Bathroom was compact, with a shower hose over the bath.
The route to our room was complicated, up and down small flights of stairs after getting off the lift on the first floor. Luckily our room was next door to a flight of stairs that took us to the carpark - a short walk to the hotel entrance took us to reception /breakfast.
Breakfast was a ok - pretty standard, on comparison to a budget hotel breakfast.
WiFi signal was good in the room and restaurant but the throughput was poor.

Great location but very over priced and in need of refurb

Cons:

I was really disappointed by the quality of the room given that it was slightly more expensive than other options and I had chosen to go with this as I wanted something a bit nicer as it was a special occasion.

Room was very small, carpet was stained, bathroom enamel was chipped and the shower screen wasn’t properly sealed. Tiling was bizarrely not properly finished. There was a massive AC unit in the room but no way of turning it on or instructions for using it.

No real facilites. No atmosphere . Room wasn’t clean. Ie very dusty, the carpet was wet were they had tried to get a stain off the carpet, bet curtains stained.
