Nice place to stay with gorgeous outside garden
Pros:

The garden is very nice

Cons:

It is quite old fashioned, which is fine, but some items were not in the best condition at all, especially in the bathroom.

Charming hotel,.loved it
Pros:

Hotel has a lot of charm and a great feel to it. Some would say the decor is a bit dated but it's a beautiful old building, and the outdoor areas are lovely. Clean and comfortable rooms. Excellent breakfast. A bit short staffed in the evening but staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Cons:

Trying to charge £15.for residents to park one night in the car park leaves a sour taste. Specially as the charge is not at all obvious when you book. I just parked on the road instead.

Pros:

The gardens are beautiful and the room comfortable and clean. Breakfast is very good and plenty of options. Staff were great. Enjoyed our stay

Cons:

The internet in the rooms was pretty bad. It kicks you off or losses signal often. It’s ok for scrolling your phone but I wouldn’t recommend using it to try do research and bookings on. Or to go into a common area to have better speed. Beds were a little harder than normal but half of our party didn’t mind it.

A disappointing stay which means we won't be returning
Pros:

The staff were friendly polite and efficient.

Cons:

The hotel has tired decoration....the cleanliness of the room was lacking attention to detail ie. bed sheets not fitted properly. Car parking is extremely tight especially if you have a larger vehicle.
The bar area seats were marked .

Highly recommended, you will not be disappointed.
Pros:

Fantastic hotel, a mix of old and new. It is located on the No7 Bus route n Fulford around 30 minutes walk into the heart of York. No 7 bus can be picked up from the train station, if you're driving the hotel has ample safe parking. Room was lovely very good size and had on-suite bathroom. Breakfast is the full works, fruit, cheeses, cold meats, cereal, yoghurts or if you prefer a selection of hot food. Nothing to fault for me.

Cons:

Nothing everything was as you'd expect, premium hotel.

Fancy furniture and a good breakfast don't make up for lack of sleep, our visit to York was spoiled
Pros:

Good breakfast

Cons:

We booked a superior king sized room, but what we got was two single beds pushed together with a duvet that didn't actually cover the bed. My wife complained and we were told there wasn't a suitable duvet available so we were given a single duvet to use in conjunction with the one we had, it made sleeping awkward.
We didn't actually get any sleep anyway and we slept on top of the duvets, the room was extremely hot, there was no means of controlling the heat and the windows were restricted so they could not be opened sufficiently.
