La ubicación y las instalaciones (piscina y terraza del Manzanares).
El servicio de la terraza del Manzanares, poco profesional y muy lento. Además la limpieza del plato de ducha, se veían zonas no sé si sucias u oxidadas. Y en cuanto a las sábanas, una tenía rotos y una funda de almohada tenía manchas rojas, supongo que fueron manchas que no se quitaron aun haber pasado por lavadora pero da mala impresión....
Breakfast was good and the staff was helpful.
It wasn’t as clean as other NH I have been to. It was only ok. It was quite a long walk to downtown
Terrible hotel. This place needs new management immediately.
This was a busy work trip. All I wanted to do was work, eat, watch my shows, sleep, shower. None of those basic needs were met.
Where do I start?
The good: Superior room is large and well laid out. There’s a garden and small pool. Breakfast was ok, not great - very limited hot food.
Mobile app: this is advertised everywhere - there’s a QR code in the room in 3 different places. When you log into the WiFi on phone or laptop, it takes you to the app. It encourages you to use the app for room service, housekeeping, whatever you need. I don’t speak Spanish - the staff speak little to no English - so this sounded like a fab idea. WRONG. There’s no process to staff to check app requests, and the staff i spoke to hadn’t been trained on how to use it.
Example: ordered room service - they’re meant to acknowledge the order, but it was sat pending for 20mins. I ended up calling room service to tell them I’d placed an order. Literally ZERO idea what I was talking about. Kept asking what I wanted to order. Finally something clicked, and they found the online order system, confirmed my order and sent it up. The guy on the 2nd night couldn’t even figure it out.
Example: ordered ironing board 2 times - never arrived. I had to call in the end, but it came too late to be of use.
Poor room cleaning: bathroom sink and bathtub fully blocked, just filling up with dirty water. Absolutely disgusting. Remote control coated in all manner of filth and ‘splashes’. I wanted to puke. Check out the photo!
Food: the room service menu in the room (dirty tired card) was different to the online version. In any case, none of the food matched the descriptions. Squid sandwich with black garlic mayo came with a smear of plain white mayo. Spanish tortilla with onions, came with no onion. Cold meat and cheese platter with ‘an assortment of breads’ came with a solitary roll.
But the worst was the burger: fully raw. I gave up after 3 bites and was really ill that evening and most of the next day. I sent it back. Reception called to profusely apologise, offered extra food, whatever I wanted. I said no thanks, just cancel the order. Guess what was on my bill when I checked out? Yup.
WiFi and tvs : there are no smart tvs - which was not my experience in other NH hotels. The WiFi was ok, but on the first night I was able to view Netflix on my laptop - on the 2nd it said that the hotel had a VPN running that meant I couldn’t access Netflix. Reception called IT support for me - spent 20m on the phone with them - said they were going to call back. Never did.
So - the manager apologised after breakfast on my first night. He invited me to eat dinner on the house that night - that was nice. My company was paying, so they will enjoy that I’m sure! But the apology was disingenuous - he said there had been ‘a problem with the app’ on my first day. I don’t believe that to be true - every staff interaction showed that they have no training and no process - there is simply noone tracking online requests in real time.
In case you hadn’t guessed, would not recommend.

Das Hotel liegt etwas außerhalb des Kern von Madrid und ist sehr schön. Am Fluss Manzanares. Die Ausstattung ist sehr gut und die Zimmer sind sehr leise. Zudem gibt es einen kleinen Pool, den wir zwar nicht genutzt haben, aber gesehen haben. Sauber! Das Frühstück des fantastisch, und das schreibt jemand, die nie Hotelfrühstücke isst. Auch das Personal ist sehr entgegenkommend und freundlich und hilfsbereit.
