Cons:

The spa and swimming pool were out of use during my stay but there was no mention of a monetary discount, partial refund or supplement to counteract the lack of facilities.
The bedroom was extremely old decor, with the curtain poll actually falling down on to me as I closed the curtains.

Weekend Away
Pros:

Beautiful buildings and gardens.
We stayed in The Woodlands building: Rooms were spacious, with a nice view. and the bed comfortable. Great bathroom.
Good location for walks in the Ribble Valley.

Cons:

A/C not working.
Fridge in room not working.
Breakfast not really organised well. People having to wait for breakfast items at the buffet. Not enough plates and bowls.
Coffee machine not working.
Staff were doing the best they could, but didn’t appear to have much training. Dinner was better with a very experienced staff member in charge.

It was a nice stay, room needs tlc and the spa a bit expensive for only being able to use it for 2 hours.
Pros:

It was a nice stay, good location, well kept gardens and lots of parking. The spa was good we had to book in a time slot which makes sense so it doesn’t get over crowded. Staff were nice

Cons:

With the spa it’s quite a bit pricey for what it’s worth personally. Our biggest issue was with the bedroom. We stayed in the house, there wasn’t any aircon so it got hot fast. There was lots of cracks/chips in the wall, it was damp and the bathroom mirror was cracked. Nice design but needs a lot of tlc.

Amazing but sort room keys out!
Pros:

I liked the room and the bed, the front of house staff were also very polite

Cons:

My room key stopped working multiple times. I had to wake my wife up in the middle of the night to enter the room because no one was at the check in desk at the late hour.

When I say multiple times I mean I had to go to the check in desk for a new room key at least 5-6 times for a 2 night stay. Was a real hassle and did not need that on my first day of marriage. I also was in a rush at times as had events to attend for which I was the groom, and could not access my room. This made me late on a occasion and caused me real stress and discomfort, as it was already a stressful week and my time at the hotel was to relax after the wedding and get ready for the next days events.
