I may be the only disgruntled customer but I will not be returning.
Pros:

The old good thing about my stay was the breakfast, it lived up to the standard I know and expect from Stanley house.

Cons:

On checking staff, staff not friendly and quick to point out this was booked through booking.com ( I don't understand why this would matter because either way it was not free, it was a paid for stay) I have stayed at Stanley house a few times booked directly on the website and can confirm the staff treated us differently this time around. The manor house building was not clean (from the entrance) and the room had a damp smell. I got back home with an itchy rash that could be from bed bugs. The thermal pool wasn't working (the buttons) and the thermal experience felt hurried, staff inpatient.

Very average
Pros:

Beautiful buildings , lots of character

Cons:

Staff weren’t really bothered most of the time, when in the bar or the restaurant, they walked round with their mobile phones .
Room was nice , but sink was cracked and mirror was Broken in bottom corner.

Not the high end hotel experience that it could have been , wouldn’t go back

Stylish and comfortable hotel with a nice mix of ancient and moden
Pros:

Stylish and comfortable rooms, quiet, pleasant rural location not too far from the M6. Lovely old house. Well prepared and presented food. Keenly priced. Nice mix of old and new

Cons:

Nothing really. We had to change rooms because of a sudden ant infestation, but one of those things and we were moved to another room which was just as nice.

Great country house hotel
Pros:

This is a really great hotel, with excellent large and comfortable rooms, well equipped with fridge, safe, tea and coffee facilities and a great bathroom. The breakfast is really great too, cooked to order and plenty to choose from, including a continental buffet.

Cons:

The major downside is the menu choice for evening meals. Nowhere near as good as some of the pubs in the area and not great value.
