Behind the tat, unnecessary cushions, cheap air freshener, plastic flowers and so much furniture there is a lovely house. Staff friendly but rest mediocre. Not worth the price.
Utterly unique place: location on large grounds, safe for parking (esp for motorcycles) and quiet. The building and most decor is like out of a time machine, with a bit of an Overlook Hotel vibe (but in a good way!). The room was very generous in size, and felt like a renovation started and was halted halfway through: the bathroom redone, but not the room; pictures on the wall of flora, animals, a reclining figure -- clearly no interior designer got the chance to gentrify the decor.
This hotel can't be evaluated on usual criteria. It's got so much character that everyone fits.
Good location, nicely set back from the road. This made for peace of mind for the security of our motorcycles. Great breakfast, and restaurant where we dined. Excellent staff, very helpful and courteous. Lovely room, with a very nice coffee machine. Good bathroom etc.
Only thing to note, is it's a fairly long way from town. No problem if you wanted to drive there, but a bit of a trek if you wanted a walk into town. Not an issue for most.

The hotel was comfortable and very clean and fresh with beautiful antique furnishings throughout. Our room was lovely and comfortable and our bed was superb 👌
The rules of the hotel. Book in was 4pm departure was 1030 I think £180 per night is expensive! especially when you count the amount of hours that you have basically spent in the hotel. Once you check out you don't hang about like other hotels eg reading, drink coffee etc. The hotel closes between 12 noon and 3pm daily so they want you out.

The location.
It was extremely over priced £200 but wasn’t as clean or welcoming as a Bed & Breakfast for £50. I think checking from 4pm and check out from 10.30 is only acceptable in a Bed & Breakfast, not somewhere claiming to be a hotel. There were fruit flies, dead and alive all over the room and bathroom. When I complained they offered to hoover them up but not give us a new cleaner room.

Der Garten ist wunderschön, das Zimmer war geräumig. Personal sehr freundlich!
Viel zu viel Deko, Kissen etc. im Zimmer. Wir mussten uns auf der Konsole erst Platz schaffen. Wir waren im Halbuntergeschoss und die Fenster waren nicht geputzt. Die Veranda die zur Bar gehört müsste dringend renoviert werden. Der grosse Aschenbecher (grosser Topf mit Kippen) war sehr abstossend.
