A very good, informative talk by Nutritionalist Elaine Povey about Intermittent Fasting. Personally I learnt alot about the different ways to do Intermittent Fasting. Looking forward to trying different ways.
A good group of ladies attended.
Plenty of time for Q & A's.
Booked a Spa break with friends, the service in the main house was very poor, though the food was lovely the attention to detail from the waiting service was extremely poor, a very low 2 stars! We were informed that as you had a wedding you were busy this in my opinion is extremely poor business management as your main guests should not suffer due to a function.
The next day we visited the spa and from beginning to end the service, friendliness and attentive to detail from the staff here outweighs those in the main house, especially from Noemi.
I recommend that you address the issues in the main house as a priority as it would very much put me us of coming again.
Spa experience was fantastic, especially Noemi in the Sage spa restaurant. Lovely food and service. Overnight stay good, food lovely in Gardenia but sadly very poor service, not offered drinks, long waits for them when ordered, not offered coffee etc. When we politely highlighted this we were told it was because there was a wedding next door and the bar was too busy.
Excellent spa service especially from Noemi very friendly and attentive.
Room very tired and dirty , ants everywhere in the room , sage restaurant very dirty hasn't been cleaned for days ,
Very noisy at 2:30 am with pissed up people
The staff Brooke and Stacey were very helpful and very professional and very nice. The spa was lovely.
The rooms all had problems. We had 4 over 2 nights.
The first room the toilet wouldn’t stop flushing.
The second room the ceiling was coved and there was only access to one side of the bed so you hit your head on the ceiling.
The third room had a crack in the window pane, mould in the curtain, the plug under the tv is slightly falling out of the wall, the plug next to the bed wasn’t working, the handle on the tap fell off in our hand, the radiator in the bathroom was on full power with no dial or controls to turn it off so I burnt my arm and the shower leaks over the entrance of the block.
The fourth room had a bees nest in the ceiling of the bathroom so we couldn’t open the windows and there was ivy growing on through the extractor fan in the bathroom.
The manager James only offered us the first room again after the first 3 rooms. Once we said no because we had been in there already he walked away very quickly.
Facilities and location were good
Guest who were staying in our cottage building, next door and underneath were intimidating and used recreational drugs
We liked the look of the hotel and grounds. Staff where polite and friendly.
No aircon. Especially difficult while it was warm. Could not turn off the heated towel rail. We had booked in for breakfast but was sent to 2 different places and told breakfast was not available at the spa or the restaurant. A great lack of staff. We felt that the ones that where working where doing many different jobs and much more was needed.
Spa facilities and additional treatments were worth the money
Dining experience at sage had very limited menu and poor service. We did report this upon check out.
Bed was averagely comfortable and only 1 fan provided for such a hot evening.
Some small things could do with upgrading.
Champneys Eastwell Manor was one of the most disappointing luxury spa experiences I’ve had in the UK — a property charging premium prices while visibly deteriorating in almost every area that matters.
The problems started immediately on arrival when we weren’t even given dressing gowns, something utterly basic for a spa hotel. Communication throughout the stay was chaotic and amateurish. We were never informed that breakfast was not being served in the main house, so we unnecessarily walked there only to be redirected to the spa restaurant.
The estate itself feels tired and neglected. For a supposedly luxury country manor, the grounds are visibly falling apart: crumbling walls, broken patio stones, and a general sense of decay everywhere you look. The building desperately needs investment and proper maintenance.
The rooms are equally dated. No air conditioning during extremely hot weather made the stay uncomfortable to the point of absurdity. Even worse, the bathrooms still have separate hot and cold taps like something from decades ago. The hot water was dangerously scalding, and having to fill a sink just to mix water to wash your face feels outdated and frankly unhygienic in a hotel marketing itself as luxury.
Breakfast was almost laughably poor. There was no buffet, no yogurt, no fruit, nothing available to tide guests over while waiting. We waited over an hour for basic eggs on a muffin despite the restaurant not even being busy. To make matters worse, the air conditioning appeared to have been turned off while temperatures outside were around 34°C, making the dining experience deeply uncomfortable.
What makes the whole experience especially frustrating is that Eastwell Manor clearly has the bones of a beautiful property, but it feels financially squeezed and poorly maintained. The entire place gives the impression of a business extracting premium prices while underinvesting heavily in the actual guest experience.
Champneys markets Eastwell Manor as a luxury escape. In reality, it currently feels more like a faded asset being run down than a properly cared-for high-end hotel and spa.
Let's start with the bad. The mews cottages have many problems. Found out by being in three on the first day. It was a bank holiday weekend so being generous things that I imagine would or could be quickly sorted simply had to be left for the next " working" day.
The staff is where the whole experience improves.
Brooke could not have been more helpful or apologetic. A true professional and friendly if not somewhat embarrassed front of house that did all she could to make our stay memorable for the right reasons.
Likewise Stacey at the spa was amazing and this made a wreaked birthday break in a great one.
The only manager we saw couldn't excuse himself quick enough and his only suggestion was to place us back in the first room with the not so enticing water feature of the ever flushing toilet.
We were however in safe hand with the previously mentioned ladys.
The final room, our forth, was in the manor and that apart from the wasp nest outside our window was fabulous. A true castle experience with both the feel and class of a manor house.
The buzzing was not even close to a minor irritation.
If your going to stay, pay the extra and stay in the manor if you need to delay to save then do
The spa is a spa with all the usual, pool sauna etc and more treatments than I can describe all at a cost but if thats your wish I can't see why you wouldn't.
The building is old obviously so high tech you can forget about but if you wish to be a lord or lady of a manor, be looked after by great staff and enjoy a swim then I will happily endorse. Just pay the money and go for the manor as complaining that much kind of made us feel very unenglish in a very English setting.
Beautiful building- however I can't say the sane for the mews rooms. Decorated in 2016 in real need of decorating. And customer service is pants too. On Tuesday 19th May there was an unfortunate burst water main which meant we couldn't have a decent breakfast, use the spa or receive our very expensive facials. We talked to a manager who finally offered a 50% off next stay. I can see that's a nice offer on your socials anyway - so that means nothing. We haven't had the voucher, we have had our facials refund expand this please and rewrite

Beautiful building and stunning surroundings, however I can’t say the same for the mews rooms. They appear to have last been decorated around 2016 and are now looking tired and in real need of refurbishment. Sadly, the customer service was equally disappointing.
On Tuesday 19th May, there was an unfortunate burst water main which completely impacted our stay. As a result, we were unable to enjoy a proper breakfast, use the spa facilities, or receive the very expensive facials we had booked. While we understand that emergencies happen and appreciate that some situations are beyond the hotel’s control, the way it was handled afterwards left a lot to be desired.
After eventually speaking with a manager, we were offered 50% off a future stay. While this may sound generous, it appears to be a standard promotion already advertised on their social media, so it didn’t feel like any genuine gesture of goodwill or compensation for the disruption caused. We still haven’t received the promised voucher, although we have at least been refunded for the facials.
Overall, the building itself is lovely, but the rooms, service, and handling of customer issues fell far below expectations — especially considering the price paid.
We haven't received the facials refund, and I havent received an email reply to my complaint or the voucher promised. HAve tried to call Eastwell Manor to talk to the reception and was left hanging on so long I hung up - perhaps that was their idea to get rid of people . Really not happy at all now
Yesterday was a real treat, we tried all the facilities and I had two treatments. Thirza did a back and shoulder massage and 100 yr Facial. She was amazing! The facial was a very new experience for me and included cryo cooling which was incredible. She listened to what I needed out of the massage too and particularly concentrated on tense areas.
My only criticism was tidying of dining tables and glasses around poolsides was slow, some tables not cleared all afternoon.
Also in the ladies changing room there’s a lack of hooks to hang your towel or dry items in the showers!
But over all we had a fantastic day and will definitely return
Overall we had a wonderful day and would definitely go back, the grounds and setting are beautiful and the pools well kept.
Wonderful garden
Poor rooms and bad restaurant experience : I waited over an hour to be served and when meal eventually arrived it was not what I had ordered. I ordered steak the waiter brought salmon…. After more than an hour wait
Nothing
Everything- poor
Booked the Sunday reset over the May bank holiday, I was slightly apprehensive after reading all the negative reviews and questioned whether to cancel or not but i’m so glad I didn’t! I arrived a bit early for check in but was able to check in straight away the lovely lady that checked me in was so helpful and answered all my questions before I could even ask them! She made me feel extremely welcome and like a really important guest, after checking in she then gave me my complimentary bag with robe and slippers and explained how to get to my accommodation easily. My room was in the mews in the Jasmine cottages, my room was upstairs and due to the very hot weather it was a bit sweltering on entering, to my relief there was a fan in the cupboard! I struggled to get the windows open at first but did eventually manage they do appear quite old and in need of replacing (one of the windows had a large crack in it) I could see some of the other accommodations looked like they had newer windows though so this could be a work in progress, there are areas of the room that look a little worn and could do with freshening up but I wouldn’t say it was anything major that bothered me. I couldn’t get the tv to work which didn’t bother me too much as I had my ipad with me but would have been nice to have the option, one of the reading lights didn’t work which made it quite dark with just the one on but I managed with the bathroom light on aswell, the cold tap handle wasn’t screwed on either again minor things that didn’t bother me but may frustrate other guests. I headed straight over to the spa to cool off, bit of a faff on arriving as I wasn’t sure where to go and it felt a little bit like I was being a nuisance when asking and asking where the towels were, (they are kept in the changing room but had ran out) once this was sorted I went and found a lounger by the pool there was a fair few available and it didn’t feel too busy like some reviews have shared, I spent some time here reading, I will say the smaller pool with the fancy jets was quite loud at times so if this is something that would annoy you then find a lounger down the other end of the pool, there was a sign to say the pool was slightly under temperature but it was a welcome cool relief from the heat outside! I went to take a look at the outdoor hydropool all the loungers outside were understandably taken with the weather! There was plenty of hooks to hang your belongings though if you wanted to just try out the hydropool I did this then a couple of people left shortly after so I was able to nab a bed, what would be good is some umbrellas by the hydropool for us fair skinned people on the hot days! I then went back to my room in the evening to get ready for dinner, shower was lovely and hot, went for a walk around the grounds which were beautiful! Sat down for dinner and ordered I had a £50 supplement with my package, the food came out almost straight away which was surprising but it was delicious, I think the details around what is and isn’t included with your packages could be a lot clearer there was a couple on the table next to me that were told the menu that they had ordered from wasn’t included in their allowance (this was waived for them after they explained they weren’t told this) some of the waiters appeared a bit confused about what is and isn’t included aswell I just feel this could be made a lot clearer on the website/booking and explained when seated for dinner/breakfast, I had ordered a side of chips aswell that never arrived although I was too full for them by this point so I didn’t bother mentioning it. After dinner I went back to my room to relax for the night it was lovely and quiet but unfortunately I just couldn’t sleep due to the heat even with the fan on and the windows open, the bed was also quite hard but I know it’s hard to please everyone as some people would like a firm mattress. I went for breakfast in the morning and my package had breakfast included but again it wasn’t very clear what that included the booking stated continental and full english which you would assume meant it was all included but on check in it was explained I had a £12 supplement to use but I wasn’t sure if this meant towards the cooked breakfasts or the continental? I only had continental due to not being a big breakfast eater there didn’t seem to be many waiters and they appeared a bit rushed of their feet trying to help everyone but very polite and friendly, I would say it was an ok breakfast not a huge amount of choice but enough to start the day, pan au chocolat was lovely! Overall I had a lovely stay at Eastwell manor the areas I have highlighted for improvement are quite minor in my opinion and easily rectified from feedback given, one thing that would be a good edition is a little fridge in the rooms! Especially if you are staying more than one night in the summer months as there is no chance of keeping any drinks or anything cold and fresh if you are upstairs! I think the sunday reset is great value for money with what it includes it’s a shame there is such an add on for single occupancy as this could be something I would like to do frequently possibly booking 2 nights instead of 1 but the extra fees for being a single person really bump the price up, however I do look forward to visiting again and hope my future visits are as positive as this one.
We had a wonderful stay in the beautiful weather and can't thank Sanju in the bar and Hakim in hospitality enough for their help over and above!. Lovely people and facilities. Thanks!
