Quiet and comfy but watch out for summer mosquitoes
Pros:

Lovely quiet place with spacious comfy rooms and helpful friendly staff.

Cons:

Too many mosquitoes! Breakfast was a pay per item affair with very slow service despite being almost empty.

Disappointing start
Pros:

The hotel staff and stay in the hotel were absolutely amazing friendly helpful it was for a anniversary weekend and they went above and beyond to make our room welcoming and the little touch of the dessert tray with happy anniversary on was so amazing the spa itself has amazing facilities which we was able to eventually enjoy but I did not fully relax unfortunately due to an issue just before having my treatment

Food was absolutely amazing cocktails were great and made so well

Cons:

To have my treatment experience ruin by the spa treatments manager we was late to our appointment I rung to let know and was fully aware that our treatments would be cut shorter however as we got up the stairs I said I’m sorry for our lateness by 10mins before I could catch my breath I was met with a manger that spoke rudely toward myself and my husband brought me to tears I went into my spa treatment crying my eyes out having being made to feel belittled the staff doing my treatment had to calm me down which ate more into my time to try and calm the staff at the hotel were amazing all other staff were helpful kind but because of a senior it made the experience tainted and took me most of the afternoon to calm and try and relax

We love it but would appreciate some TLC in the rooms
Pros:

The hotel is beautiful and we have been coming here for many years

The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful
Everything was taken care of in a kind and helpful manner
The building and garden is beautiful

Cons:

We are sorry to say that the hotel has seen better days. Most of the rooms we stayed in need some TLC, like fresh paint over repaired walls
We asked for a different room since the bed in our room was super squeaky and had an old mattress
It was not a problem at all for the receptionist to find us a new room👍🏼

Amazing Spa Getaway from London
Pros:

The grounds, the spa, the service, and gardenia all exceeded my expectations. I stayed for two nights and feel completely relaxed after two days of pampering. The spa wasn't too busy and was able to get a lounger both days on a Friday and Saturday. The food in Gardenia was excellent. It's only a 15 minute drive from ashford international station. I truly have nothing bad to say about my experience at Champneys.

Cons:

The food in Sage is average. Luckily it was included in the all day spa access, otherwise I would consider it not worth the prices charged. The food in Gardenia however is superb. Had dinner and a cooked breakfast in Gardenia and it was lovely. Another tip - don't book an uber from the station. Book a local taxi as my uber driver couldn't find the grounds and I ended up overcharged because the uber driver went past the manor grounds.

Penny pinching operation masquerading as luxury hotel
Pros:

Comfortable accommodation, beautiful surroundings, Gardenia restaurant was excellent (though pricy) with friendly waiting staff (thanks Malik!)

Cons:

Every interaction with staff (except in the Gardenia) resulted in a long exploration of what we were - and were not - entitled to under our room package. It felt like their main priority was ensuring that we didn’t get anything we weren’t entitled to. This was not what we expected in somewhere holding itself out as a luxury hotel.

Why bother including “limited spa access” when this turned out to mean that access was free only between 10am and 4pm? Utterly worthless (as the hotel well knows) when check in is not allowed until 3pm. Even after paying to use the outdoor pool outwith the permitted hours the procedure for gaining access was unnecessarily complicated.

Similar sophistry with inclusive breakfast. Once again we were greeted by a long explanation as to what was and wasn’t included. Extra items were very expensive - £15 for a bowl of porridge and a smoothie.

On checkout the receptionist tried to charge us for dinner, despite the fact that we had paid at the time by credit card (the swipe taken on arrival having apparently failed to work in the restaurant). The receptionist clearly did not believe that this was the case, and even when shown proof of payment she was entirely unapologetic.

A real surprise as to how lovely the hotel and grounds were, and the luxuriousness of the room.
Pros:

Truly amazing room; wonderful grounds; in general excellent and polite staff, especially in the restaurant at dinner as I was on my own. Was given a 'guest of the day' present, which was a lovely touch.

Cons:

Service when checking out wasn't as polite or helpful as at other times.

Enjoyed it overall but we probably wont return or recommend
Pros:

We love the setting and general vibe.

Cons:

It is getting tired. It was quite dirty in places. The bedroom was nice but smelt stale so we aired it. The bed was small and very uncomfortable. The food was below average and expensive given the quality. Most staff were fabulous but there was a particularly rude man on the desk of Gardenia on Friday night which left a sour taste.

Useless
Pros:

nothing

Cons:

Title: Complete lack of transparency—hidden charges and ignored complaints!
Beware! This hotel accommodation does NOT include basic facilities like the outdoor pool in your standard stay. They will try to charge you an extra £75 in the day , or £20 between 5pm and 9pm, to use the outdoor pool under the pretense that it is part of the spa. (Since when does a standard outdoor on-site pool constitute a spa?!) I don’t know anyone who would pay £75 just for a swim. While I was there, another guest told me they had been fooled by the exact same hidden fee and refused to pay it either.
The management clearly needs to be far more transparent on their own website and on Booking.com. I arrived to use the pool around 11am only to discover this hidden cost. Being disabled, I couldn't wait 4 hours in limbo for a 3pm check-in after that disappointment, so I ultimately ended up just going home. The trip was totally ruined.
I filed a formal complaint and requested a refund, which was agreed verbally and since, To top it all off, both Booking.com and I have tried contacting the manager repeatedly about the refund, but they have completely ignored all phone calls and emails. This level of customer service is incredibly rude and unprofessional. It shows exactly how poorly this establishment is run. Save your money and go elsewhere!
