Pros:

A pleasant, comfortable hotel for a good price. Well situated in the centre of town. Bedroom and bathroom clean, although the clamber into the bath for the shower isn't easy for us old uns.

Intermittent wifi.

Pros:

The hotel and the room was fine apart from the issue raised below. The bed was clean and comfortable. The second room was a good option to get away from the outside noise. The breakfast was simple but again acceptable

Cons:

The hotel has a nightclub directly outside our room. The noise was awful and we were unable to sleep as the room rattled and the base pounded the room well after midnight. This was a Sunday night and a bank holiday so an unusual situation but it seems that the hotel are unable to challenge this. However when we went to talk to staff after midnight they did organise a room at the back of the hotel where we did manage to get some sleep away from the noise which carried out until 2am? Apparently this usually only happens on a Saturday night.

On checking out no breKy, slept in car for am hr, before leaving Neath.
Pros:

Was expecting breakfast, but its a continental breakfast, poor on selection.
Location good center of town, pubs etc all close together.

Cons:

On opening room door, the previous days dirty laundry, still in room, bed was more like a small double, very firm, tilted down towards the head end, pillows flat, opec glass in window, & the cooling, or extractor fans, going all the time, interrupted sleep, our room needed updating, more like a 2 star, wouldn't recommend.

The stay was for pleasure, location was good. Breakfast was basic. Slightly underwhelmed by my stay.

Cons:

The room we stayed in was tired and dated needs refurbishment, the bathroom was quite dirty needed a good clean. Bedding was stained.

The accommodation provided was significantly below the standard advertised on your platform and below what would reasonably be expected of a property accepting paying guests.The issues experienced during our stay included.Extremely old and uncomfortable beds where the springs could be felt through the mattresses, causing pain and preventing a proper night’s sleep.
* A room that was visibly dirty on arrival, including crumbs, dirt, and spiderwebs.
* Broken glass left on the hallway floor, creating a serious safety hazard.
* Complimentary biscuits that were approximately three years out of date.
* Stained, old, and unpleasant-smelling mugs that appeared unhygienic and unsuitable for use.
* A persistent unpleasant odour coming from the bathroom.
* Visible nails protruding from the headboard, presenting a potential risk of injury.
* No formal check-in procedure. Staff did not request identification, take guest details, or complete any registration paperwork. We were simply asked whether we were another guest before being given access.

These issues collectively demonstrate serious shortcomings in cleanliness, maintenance, safety, and overall management. The condition of the property was not as described when booked through Booking.com, and the accommodation provided did not meet reasonable expectations.

Pros:

Love Neath and the locals.Great to see Neath on a Saturday night.Fantastic bar and bartenders.

Few tweaks would make breakfast a 9 or 10.

It was easy to book.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Rooms were comfortable, and basic.

Cons:

Breakfast only had cold choices except for toast, even the coffee was tepid.
Continental isn't for everyone, cold ham and cheese with a cold hard boiled egg just didn't cut it.
