Pretty and peaceful setting but close to lots of local amenities. Very helpful staff. We had the most basic room but it was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed.
No complaints about anything!
There was no restaurant despite being a hotel, there was no free breakfast despite being advertised on Booking.com app.
The room's carpet was disgusting and the bathroom was dirty together with black mould, fractured sink and toilet unable to flush properly.
Springs coming through on the bed with head board falling off during the night, had about 3 hours sleep, appauling.
The manner is which i was challenged by the manager/owner, sticking his foot in the door of my room and refusing to leave was abusive of his power and rude.
It was lovely
Nothing
The location is beautiful and the staff were helpful, when they were around
The lack of a kitchen at a hotel in a semi-rural location is extremely odd. You cannot get a breakfast on site nor even a drink outside your room until the bar opens at 5. There are cafes, restaurants and pubs but these are 10-15 mins walk or 5 -10 mins drive away, the cafes don't open until 9 and close at 4 so if you want a breakfast or a light meal outside those hours you are out of luck - my wife and I resorted to buying sandwiches at the local Tesco the night we arrived.
In many ways the Ivy feels like it's gone down market, the lack of staff, the quality of linen & the occasional sign of poor maintenance are all very disappointing in a hotel we have stayed at many times over the years. We won't be coming back until we hear that things have improved.
There were 7 of us staying - it was fantastic even a private garden area for the kids to play in.
Nothing
Absolutely stunning gardens, perfect for numerous photo opportunities. The Glade Suite was incredible,.a high standard, plenty of space and very comfortable!.Highly recommend a stay here.
There is nothing I didn't like. This place is outstanding.
Lovely location.A very enjoyable break. Will return again. Thankyou.
Lovely room and lovely location
Fire alarm went off and no information about where to go and staff member not sure what to do on her own
Nice location with free off-road parking
The room was well used and old-fashioned; there was no breakfast or evening meal option; it seemed overpriced for the service provided
Was easy to get to friendly staff on arrival no problem straight to the room so quiet and beautiful location very relaxing just what you need will definitely be going back
Nothing
A warm welcome when we arrived. The staff are lovely.
Beautiful buildings set in gorgeous expansive grounds with ponds and flower beds. The room had everything we needed: plenty of storage , well placed mirrors, a large bathroom with walk or roll-in shower; a comfy bed and french doors onto a small patio area. There was a big closet with lots of hanging space and it also housed chairs to use on the patio. We wished we could have stayed longer but will definitely return.
There was nothing I didn’t like.
Location was fantastic and staff were great
Grounds. In the countryside and good walks to Everitts Park and the Carlton Marshes.
I booked a standard double room which was very dated and not very clean. I was in room 20 in the farmhouse. Arrived with my dog and was put in a non pet room. Got a charge letter on the last day for £50 in respect of the dog which had not left a trace which was reduced on speaking to the manager. I wasn’t shown to my room, no housekeeping - stayed 5 days and no bins emptied or towels changed. Could not find staff, no meals on site even if you paid. Was told was primarily a wedding venue. On the last day no staff to hand key to. Not fit for purpose as a hotel.
The room was ok. Clean and tidy
No resturant and bar. No cooked breakfast
The setting was beautiful and quiet. The room was a good size and it was nice to have the sitting area.
It was a shame there were no restaurant, which we were unaware of. We stayed for 5 nights and our room was not cleaned or rubbish collected. We had to ask for milk each day which was provided in a jug. Without any fridge, we could not use this by the morning. This was disappointing. The lighting in the room was not sufficient, especially in the sitting area.
Room was lovely and large; beautiful gardens; lovely and quiet
It needed a dressing table with a mirror. A bar ; coffee bar would have been nice; such a gorgeous setting but you had to just stay in your room.
