Comfortable hotel in a beautiful setting with excellent service
Pros:

The hotel is located a few minutes walk from the Garmisch part of town and is set in a beautiful location. Arriving in early August the air conditioning was welcome and an essential (we had cancelled our previous booking in the same area as the hotel did not have any). Arriving later than expected, we enjoyed dinner in the hotel and the friendly service. Our room was spacious and very comfortable and opened onto the garden area. As it was an overnight stay we did not take full use of the extensive facilities (pool etc). Breakfast was excellent with a wide selection and we were able to park our car in the hotel's car park

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful location
Pros:

The breakfast was wonderful. I especially liked we could get coffee and bring to our room to stretch before normal breakfast hours started. Staff was helpful on recommendations for hiking and city bus travel.
They also have a great location for local restaurants very close by.

barely average experience, enjoyed our time because we mostly spent it out of the hotel

The location is close to the centre and convenient, Free of charge room upgrade for honeymoon. Good parking (bit expensive)

Cons:

Borderline filthy, sheets were stained had some sort of gum on it. Cleaning staff would pick and choose what they want to clean and change, would see a used glass cup and return it without cleaning, would skip on sweeping floors and counters even with dead bugs on it.

Breakfast was ok but the dining area had worn out desks and chairs, staff didn’t seem welcoming wouldn’t greet or try and help out. No concierge or help with luggage and with large bags the trolley barely fits in the aging elevator.

Rooms seemed to have been updated but sofa’s seemed to be kept, hallways were like something from the 80s so basically underwent a superficial upgrade

Location was great but other than that paying more for a place that doesn’t serve the best

Amazing hotel with an amazing view and service!
Pros:

We only have praise and positive words for Hyperion Alpine Hotel! We had an amazing stay (booked 2 rooms, 4 guests in total, for one week) and our expectations were above and beyond met. First of all, our rooms were next to each other, which is always a nice bonus, and we had a beautiful view on the mountains from the balcony, something straight from a picture book if you think of the Alps and the Bayern region. We loved the facility of having an indoor swimming pool and that guests do not have to bring their own towels as there were plenty of towels available for us to use. Also the bathrobes and bath shoes in the room were great to use.
Furthermore, the rooms were modern looking from the inside and very clean and neat. Rooms got cleaned thoroughly during the day unless you indicated at the reception you want to skip a cleaning day, for which you received a coupon for cocktails at the bar. The beds felt good to sleep on, the pillows were pretty soft (a very German thing), but we asked for extra pillows which was no problem at all. Minibar was also stocked everyday (delicious drinks and a little bag of peanuts!)
On the second day I noticed that in one of our rooms the airconditioning was not working so well, probably blocked by dust, so we asked at the reception if someone could have a look; the next morning it was already fixed within minutes, we very much appreciated the quick help!
We also appreciated the excellent service and friendliness of the hotel staff during our stay, especially at dinner and breakfast. Breakfast was very varied and extensive in choice, and everything was fresh.
Garmish-Partenkirchen has a lot to offer in terms of activities and hospitality/restaurants etc, and Hyperion Hotel is situated quite close to the center, everything can be done by foot, but the hotel also offered us bustickets to use. Cars can be parked underneath the hotel.

We would love to visit this hotel again in the future and I highly recommend it to others!
