It has character and heritage appeal, tastefully decorated and vey clean and comfortable.
Access to the bedrooms is through a narrow stairs so difficult to carry up bags.
I needed to check in an hour before usual 3pm as I was meeting family for a meal, in town. Staff were really understanding and helpful making it easy to do. Facilities were good, like décor and feel of the pub, garden and hotel.
A small thing, there were a lot of beers that weren't available but there wasn't anything to indicate what wasn't available, a simple half pint glass over the pump has sufficed for 100 years, but no, you have to ask to be told "no, it's not available", it would save a lot of everyone's time.
Great location, pretty building, lovely pub garden, comfortable bedroom and good shower, water in the fridge.
Would have liked more real milk in the fridge rather than oat milk.
The location was excellent - near to the seafront but quiet. The room was art deco furnished , with a very comfortable bed and a wonderful shower.
No lift available , so a few stairs to climb , but it was good that the old building still retained its character , which was sufficient compensation for both of us.
Location car park room was fab food was fab
I think the outside could do with a paint looking a bit shabby. Such a beautiful property,
The outside area was lovely. The staff were helpful and friendly.
Our sink plug got stuck and so we were without a basin which was troublesome but we worked round it
I loved the pub, loved the character of it and the staff were very friendly. The room did have nice quirks.
Room was small, ensuite was so tiny, extremely hot with windows that hardly opened and very noisy next to the extract fan for kitchen. Bed was so hard. There was a desk fan in room and without that it would have been unbearable. It is an old building so I get that its hard to put aircon in. Such a shame as it could have been amazing. Expensive for what it was.
good location near the beach, good garden
We stayed in Room 202 while attending a wedding in Worthing and unfortunately our experience did not meet expectations.
The room was in the attic, with a heavily sloped ceiling across a large portion of the space. This was not evident from the photos on the hotel's website or Booking.com, and in parts of the room it was difficult to stand upright comfortably. During a heatwave, the room became extremely warm. The windows only opened partially, and a small fan was provided, but it was not enough to keep the room cool.
The bathroom window faced directly towards what appeared to be a kitchen extraction outlet, resulting in persistent cooking and grease odours, which, combined with the heat, made the room quite unpleasant.
We raised our concerns with the hotel immediately after check-in in the hope of finding a resolution. Unfortunately, we were advised that room allocation was handled through Booking.com and that there was little the hotel could do. As the venue operator, I found this response disappointing and felt there was limited acknowledgement of our concerns.
Service throughout the stay was inconsistent. Waiting times at the bar were lengthy, and several beers became unavailable during evening service. Breakfast service was also very slow, with a fairly basic tea and coffee station. The breakfast itself was acceptable, but given the additional cost, we felt there were better options available nearby.
Overall, while the location suited our visit for a wedding in Worthing, the accommodation and service fell short of expectations, and we would be unlikely to return.
Spacious modern room and excellent value for money.
Kettle was in a dark corner.
Staff were very helpful and pleasant
Nothing
. Afvoer douche liep niet door. Busjes met zeep en body-lotion waren leeg. Muffe geur in gangen.
