Narrow Steps to the third floor carrying a large suitcase. No lift or help with the bags.

Pros:

Hotellin viestintä ennen matkaa oli ensiluokkaista. Vastaanoton henkilökunta ystävällistä, palveluhenkistä ja kielitaitoista. Talo huokuu vanhaa tyylikkyyttä. Sijainti on loistava, melkein keskellä kaikkea mutta hiljainen, tosin taksilla ei pääse aivan hotellin eteen, mutta lähelle pääsee, ja lentokenttäbussin 22 pysäkiltä (Autoosta) on vain lyhyt kävelymatka. Aamupala on hintansa arvoinen: kananmunat ja pekonit paistetaan tilauksen mukaan, ja tarjolla on mehua, kahvia, teetä, croissanteja, tummaa ja vaaleaa leipää, leikkeleitä, juustoa, hedelmiä, jogurttia ja mysliä. Aamiaishuonetta lämmitti elävä takkatuli.

Cons:

Huoneen 32 suihkun viemäri veti tosi huonosti. Löysin huoneesta vain kaksi sähköpistoketta (WC:ssä oli lisää). Oman huoneeni minibaari oli hyvin varusteltu, mutta joidenkin matkakaverien huoneissa oli vain esim. yksi olutpullo. Aamiainen oli hyvä, mutta proseduuri ei kovin sujuva. Pitää tajuta itse tilata munakokkelit ja pekonit tiskiltä. Aamiaishuonetta pyörittävä totinen mieshenkilö ei ollut oikein halukas vuorovaikutukseen eikä esim. tullessamme sisään huomioinut tai opastanut yhtään mitenkään, mistä jäi vähän tyly ja ei-tervetullut fiilis. Lisäksi toivoisin, että aamiaistarjoiluväellä olisi sellainen vaatetus, josta erottaisi heidät asiakkaista. Huomaa myös, että talossa ei ole hissiä eikä huoneissa ilmastointia, mikä johtunee historiallisen rakennuksen museomääräyksistä tms. Mutta kun muuten on tosi hyvä hinta-laatusuhde, loistosijainti ja upea vastaanottohenkilökunta, niin varmaan tulen uudelleen kun Riiassa käyn (paitsi ehkä ei kuumimpaan kesäaikaan...)

Was very cold and the first room I was given was very stuffy and smelt strange - they were happy to move me to another room which I appreciated.
