Try the annexe for more modern and very quiet accommodation
Pros:

We stayed one night in Darfield House, the annexe to the Wentworth situated immediately behind the hotel. Our room 51 was large with comfortable beds, a very good sized bathroom with shower and bath and lots of shelf space for one's own toiletries. Good storage provided in cupboards situated in the lobby to the room and good facilities for making hot drinks. Decor is modern and unobtrusive. Bonus was a charming garden with seating just outside our window. Very, very quiet. Breakfast in the main hotel, which is in a much more olde world chintzy style, was waiter service only but good. The position of the hotel on the beachfront is of course wonderful with easy access to everything that lovely Aldeburgh has to offer. Free parking in hotel car park was appreciated.
We were very happy in the annexe and would stay there again in preference to the main building.

Very chilled birthday
Pros:

We had the most enjoyable birthday break. Spotlessly clean, nothing too much trouble, breakfast was perfect and Ruth you went above and beyond. Thank you, we shall be back.

Great place to stay near beach and town but quiet
Pros:

We stayed in Darfield House, the annexe to the hotel immediately behind the main building. Very good sized modern room with comfortable beds, large bathroom with shower and bath and lots of space for own toiletries. Hanging cupboard and another cupboard with shelves situated in entrance hall of the room. Kettle and all hot drink facilities.Bonus was the small garden outside our window. Very quiet indeed.

Cons:

Possibly having a buffet at breakfast would have been better than all waiter service. Main hotel felt a little old-fashioned and stuffy but I think a lot of people like it that way. We preferred the annexe.

Comfortable stay
Pros:

Bed was very comfortable.
Staff when we checked in were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast staff were also fantastic.
Breakfast was very tasty.
Location is fantastic right on the beach and off the high street.
Free parking.

Cons:

Lady checking us out was very frosty, almost like we were an inconvenience to her day.
Paid extra for a sea view room, was on first floor over looking a flat roof so was nervous to have the window open.

Welcoming and comfortable hotel
Pros:

We had a lovely stay earlier this year. Comfortable rooms, plenty of space in the lounges to relax, and excellent food. The real standout was the friendly and helpful staff. From assisting with my mobility scooter, to helping out with lost property, there was a kind approach with a personal touch that really made it a special break.

Great every single time
Pros:

We have stayed at The Wentworth several times over many years, and it is without doubt, our favourite U.K. hotel. We have enjoyed consistently good food, friendly, helpful staff and comfortable rooms during this time.

Overpriced and overpromised
Pros:

The Wentworth is a lovely hotel in an absolutely perfect location by the sea.

Cons:

But at £375 our room was very poor value. It was a tiny bedroom, the bathroom was tired with no separete shower, and the room was unliveable in in the morning when the sun shone in as it had no air conditioning, We realised that part of the premium relates to it having a sea view, which it does, but half the view is in fact of a flat roof with puddles of water on it and bits of rubbish, more depressing than elevating.

Lovely hotel
Pros:

We had a lovely evening meal - the prawns for starters were delicious. And so nice to be given bread - so many restaurants have started to charge for this. Breakfast was also very good. We particularly enjoyed the dog friendly ethos of the hotel, although check-in could be slightly earlier.

Expensive but memorable
Pros:

Staff welcoming.
Cost £367/night for room and breakfast. Never been in such an expensive hotel , so had extremely high expectations.
Room 12 first floor -Seaview but otherwise fairly unremarkable. Above outside seating area - noisy until 10pm.
Clean and comfortable,
Breakfast good but not exceptional.
So if you want old fashioned charm and good service and are prepared to pay about £300 - this is the place for you.
I left disappointed…..thus the average rating.

Comfortable hotel
Pros:

Excellent position, facing the sea at Aldeburgh.
A classic comfortable hotel in a traditional style. It suites the mature clientele .
Breakfast was waiter service and was excellent..
Lots of lounges to relax in and outdoor seating.

Cons:

No lift so quite difficult carrying a case to the second floor. There was a inexperienced young man who apparently was a porter.
No safe in the room. No magnifying mirror in the bathroom or robes or slippers which for the £290 price we paid I would have expected.
We only had black tea or instant coffee and had to ask for green tea bags. Not unusual to find a variety of tea bags in hotels. nowadays.

An excellent old style hotel in a very good location. Family run, with very attentive staff.
Pros:

Comfortable room and excellent breakfast with large choice of cooked main courses including kippers and haddock. Nice cosy bar. Plenty of areas to sit in the lounges. We liked the old style of the hotel. Very attentive staff.

Cons:

No lift which didn't bother us but may be more of a problem for those even older than us!

Room too small for 2 guests. Well overpriced. We stayed nearby in a lovely place for 50% less.
Pros:

Friendly female receptionist. Good breakfast.

Cons:

Almost £300 for a tiny pokey room at the back. As you enter the room you hit the door on the closet in the room and spill your drink because the door cannot open fully as you expect. Bed is too small and uncomfortable. This room is so small you cannot easily walk around the bed. It is not fit for 2 persons. Very hot with no A/C. When you open the small windows there are wasps everywhere on the ivy growth coming into windows. Gin and tonic was served with very little ice and no lemon! When we asked for lemon we were given a quarter of very thin slice ! The beach in the location is not nice. We did not like the experience at all. 2 stars due to very overpriced inadequate room.
