the bathroom & over priced
Struttura con un fascino very British da campagna inglese, con saloni dotati di grandi camini. Il nostro cottage bellissimo! Colazione eccezionale, varia e abbondante, cena in giardino di ottima qualità. Il miglior Fish and Chips del Regno Unito!
Nullaaaa
Algemeen goed hotel op kleine afstand van het stadje .
Mooi en luxe
Op zich niks
Our room was a good size and very comfortable. Everything had been thought of - there were plenty of mirrors including a magnifying mirror with a light and a full length one. The toiletries were good quality, there were plenty of good sized towels and face cloths. There was an iron and ironing board, good tea and coffee making facilities, plenty of hangers, dressing gowns and a decent hair drier. There were also ample electric points. The grounds were attractive and had lots of seating areas. We had an enjoyable meal in the restaurant in the evening and the breakfast was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful. The location was great for our visit to Highgrove and Tetbury.
The wine we had in the bar and the restaurant needed to be colder than it was.
ROOM WAS LOVELY WITH A GARDEN TERRACE INFACT IT WAS MORE LIKE A CAR PARK TERRACE, STUFF WERE FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL, I MENTIONED IT WAS MY HUSBANDS BIRTHDAY THEY LEFT A BIRTHDAY CARD IN ROOM, FOOD WAS LOVELY, LOCATON WAS PERFECT. ONE THING IS THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE A SEPARATE DINING AREA FOR PEOPLE WTH DOGS BECAUSE WHEN WE WERE HAVING FOOD PEOPLE BROUGHT THERE DOGS IN THE DINING AREA
DOGS IN DINING AREA, ONE PARTICULAR DOG JUMPED UP ON SOFA AND THE OWNER COULD NOT CONTROL DOG
Beautiful old building and delightful grounds and patio area. Nice library area.
Good selection for breakfast and reasonably priced meals.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Room was pleasant and on ground floor as requested. Situation was pleasant and convenient. Reception staff were helpful when problems occurred
Waited half an hour for a cooked breakfast. Cold Buffet bar offered a poor selection and was poorly stocked. Inadequate for a busy breakfast time. Dinner menu. Overpriced in main restaurant and offered a poor selection. We were forced to eat at Jacks Bar which was more limited but offered fish and chips and onglet steak chewy. Ate elsewhere for our celebration meal. Shower facility over bath was unstable , not easily adjusted. Coffee machine did not work until receptionist was summoned. Telephone did not work ro reception. No instructions provided for operation of coffee machine in room. Parking inadequate for a large hotel especially when wedding event at same time.
I went with full English Breakfast and it was fantastic. I had stayed in a few hotels that week and was by far the best.
Nothing
Food lovely staff very helpful
Surprised mini fridge wasn't in room especially for this standard of hotel as you couldn't keep milk and water you provided cold especially during heatwave
The hotel is comfortable with good-sized bedrooms and many different public areas to relax in. There is a quiet area outside with comfy seating, tables and large umbrellas for shade. The staff were exceptional.
The car park seems small and there is not a complete pavement to the hotel. The wifi should be password protected. Struggling to think of anything else!
Attentive and friendly staff catering for our needs with a smile.
Menu selection could be better
Great breakfast. Relaxing.
No fan in the room when it was hot.
Beautiful building, lovely garden with lots of seating. Room was large and well equipped, firm mattress and Molten Brown in the bathroom.
Signage from the car park to Reception was a bit vague.
We chose this hotel as a stop-over on our way onto the south-west coast because the AI recommended it. We were not disappointed.
The staff were impeccable, in particular María un the restaurant and Cameron on reception, as well as the waiters and waitresses that served us at dinner and breakfast.
The food was divine, we had the ribeye steak and the lamb in the garden. The eggs Benedict at breakfast was also very nice. Although, £23 per person for breakfast was a bit pricey. However, if you stay here you are going to consume the food onsite, as there is nowhere else nearby on foot.
The room was very cosy, with free tea/coffee/hot chocolate and Cotswolds shortbread provided, a lovely touch.
The hotel itself consists of a main 19th century period building and several cottages, although our room was in the main building. Lots of character.
All in all if you want to experience some quintessential English charm for a night, this is the place. We thoroughly recommend it.
