An exceptional night stay, wished we stayed longer
Pros:

The whole experience was wonderful. Breakfast was freshly made & was delicious. All the staff were wonderful.

Relaxing, comfortable & friendly
Pros:

Staff were accommodating to our every need. I’m on a stocked diet & staff both in the restaurant & kitchen went out of their way to make me a delicious meal & I wasn’t made to feel guilty over it
Front deck staff friendly & helpful, cleaner was friendly in the morning

Excellent staying place for Malmesbury combined with Bath, perfect for my requirements
Pros:

Great location. Very pleasant and professional staff. Good parking facilities. Very comfortable room. I'd definitely return.

Cons:

Bathroom a bit tired......mastic around bath discoloured, paint flaking around shaver socket.

Pros:

Le bâtiment est magnifique, plus beau que sur les photos. Le restaurant est très beau et très bon. Pareil pour les petits dej proposés et variés.

Cons:

La chambre est sympa mais je m attendais a ce qu elle soit plus stylée par rapport aux photos du site, cependant elle reste très sympa.

A lovely stay, but somehow lacked the wow factor that we remember
Pros:

The room was nice, clean and well presented- the housekeeping service was good. Hotel common areas and grounds are very attractive and the dog friendly aspect is excellent for those that want to travel with their pets.

Cons:

No discernible upgrades since our last visit which was approximately 5 years ago but is probably a reflection on the pressure that the industry is under.
A number of the serving staff who were in fairly responsible positions seemed inexperienced and lacked training - they appeared to be a little out of their depth and there seemed to be a genuine fear from them that as hotel guests, we might not pay for something that we’d consumed. Not sure if this is a result of bad experiences 🤷‍♂️ This was not consistent with the main restaurant staff, who were very attentive and helpful.

A lovely old charming atmosphere
Pros:

The breakfast was great, the room was good too. Just a lovely atmosphere!

Cons:

The was very little parking behind the Maple room where we stayed. Someone straddled 2 parks and forced us to park out front. Annoying, but staff gave us permission to park out front.

Great location
Pros:

Location / staff / excellent bed , very comfortable

Cons:

Food was average.
Lunch in bar - bread stale or maybe half toasted.
Restaurant- sticky toffee pudding was awful , dry sponge and no sauce.
Furniture in bedroom (cherry) was cheap and tarry.
