Comfortable hotel with friendly staff
Pros:

Quiet and comfortable room, good dinner in the stables with friendly staff. Tasty breakfast including good gluten free options

Cons:

It's a little tired in places and the location is not that convenient. Also there seems to be a very large charge on bottles of water in the room which are usually given as complimentary in other hotels.

Having said that I would stay again

The bedroom was very lovely

Cons:

Felt that their priority was events rather than guests paying £160/ night. Restaurant was shut for a wedding even though I had asked two days before if I could book at any time and was told yes. The open air football event finished at 12.30 am and I was kept awake until 2.30 am with staff tidying up and slamming doors. Needs a bit of a spruce up as the hotel and grounds felt very tired and run down.

Idyllic hotel, very well presented in a fantastic location with friendly and helpful staff to match.
Pros:

The room was very spacious and well presented, all the usual tea, coffee making bath and shower options as listed. The views are exceptional as are the well kept grounds and surrounding parks.

Cons:

I was there on the hottest recorded day of the summer, whilst the room had a fan which helped immensely, this is one time I would have benefitted from air conditioning.

A lovely if very hot birthday celebration
Pros:

The staff very friendly and helpful the food in the Stables very good rooms comfortable and pleased we had a fan. England match on so hotel noisy until 11 30. A convenient location equa distance for us and relatives to meet

Cons:

The way the bill was prepared but was soon sorted by hotel staff

Pros:

Proximity to Ascot (there for the races). The beautiful building and grounds. Comfortable bed, fan in room, balcony. Tasty breakfast.

Cons:

Room and stairs leading to it clearly not dusted or vacuumed in some time. £25 for a bottle of water in the room. Price inflated due to Ascot event.

Disappointingly shabby and in need of renovation. Pretty basic accommodation at a premium price.
Pros:

I’ve been coming here during Royal Ascot for a number of views. I like it for its location. It is calm, I like the light bright room, and I like being able to walk across the gardens and into Wokingham.

Cons:

It’s pretty tired and shabby nowadays. The bathroom isn’t very well lit. The mirrors aren’t great. The chest of drawers had been moved out of my room so I was living out of my bags for five days. That is poor for a hotel that costs this much. I was given one glass. One cup. It was all pretty basic. The wardrobe too is pretty puny and the don’t-steal-me hangers are not much good either.

Even factoring in the “dynamic pricing” for our stay during Royal Ascot week, this is not what I would expect from a hot

Location was ok.

Cons:

Dated property with poorly furnished rooms. Bathrooms weren’t the cleanest, noise insulation was poor and beds/pillows were not comfortable. Breakfast was also poor, with inexperienced staff and lack of menu choice for drinks.
