The views from our balcony and bedroom and how spacious the apartment was.
It was very worn, the chairs on the balcony were ripped, the bed was uncomfortable, the lift was broken, the dryer was broken, the bbq outside was electric but there was no powerpoint outside to plug it in so we couldn’t use! There was a coffee machine but no pods - just 2 for the morning would have been a nice touch!
The location-which was why we chose it.
The room was tired, old, haphazardly cleaned, there was hairs and muck in the ice tray, the sugar/salt had been spilled and not wiped up, the bed needs to go to landfill which is obvious before you even try laying on it and the price per night seems to have piggybacked onto the expected quality of a room at the Mercure, not the reality. Despite being aware it was unlikely we would find alternative suitable accommodation on the island due to the events that weekend, we still looked. The only reason we stayed on was because, as suspected, we couldnt book anywhere else.
The location is amazing, as are the pools and facilities on site.
The apartment did not meet the standards expected, certainly not that the price charged.
There was a leak in the en-suite toilet, paint peeling from the ceiling in the shower and we had two cockroaches in the apartment.

We paid for a view but privacy grossly compromised by pool. Very noisey & intrusive- had to erect barrier so pool attendees didn't stare into our main bedroom. No point paying for a view if have to block it for privacy!!
The customer service was lovely, friendly, and informative. The hotel amenities were excellent and made our stay enjoyable.
The apartment lacked a few essentials and could benefit from some updates. The outlook from the deck was quite underwhelming, overlooking a bare dirt area with a large number of dead plants, that could easily be enhanced with some plants or landscaping to create a more inviting atmosphere. The outdoor seating would also be much more comfortable with the addition of cushions. Overall, while the apartment was adequate, it felt a little underwhelming for the price paid.
Beautiful views, well equipped apartment, close to supermarket, buses & ferry terminal. Good shower & comfortable bed.

Our stay at this hotel on Magnetic Island was extremely disappointing.
I suggest you to go to see the photo attached.
As soon as we entered the room, it was clear that the cleanliness was far below an acceptable standard. We found dirt throughout the room, worn-out appliances, dirty wardrobe, dirty blackout blinds covered in dust, dead spiders, and, most concerning of all, a dirty baking tray left inside the oven. We have photos to support these issues.
We reported everything to the receptionist immediately, hoping the situation would be resolved. Instead, we were simply told that there was nothing she could do. No effort was made to address the problems, offer us another room, or provide any form of compensation.
Paying for a room in this condition is unacceptable. At the very least, we expected the hotel to take responsibility and offer a refund, as the accommodation did not meet even basic standards of cleanliness or customer service.
We cannot recommend this hotel. The lack of cleanliness, poor maintenance, and complete absence of customer care made this one of the worst hotel experiences we have had.
Fabulous location- short walk from ferry and great water views. Very limited supplies in apartment even though we were a family staying for 5 nights (a couple of tea bags/coffee sachets, tiny sponge that had been cut up from a regular sized sponge, not enough soap or toilet paper etc). Leaflet provided by reception said we needed to go to IGA for anything extra including toilet paper which was ok but seemed a bit light on for a Mercure apartment hotel. No restaurant but short walk to Nelly Bay. One heated pool (3 other pools not heated). Could be so much better if they provided a few extra things to welcome you and things like extra towels especially as they do not service the room unless you stay over 7 nights.

The view was excellent and a great location. The apartment was very well appointed with everything we needed.
The bathroom could do with an upgrade. It was not in good repair for the price of the apartment.
Several pool and room for all of us. Facilities were as listed and well maintained.
Possibly the inclusion of L shaped lounge and chairs that are a little more comfortable.
The location was great, overlooking the harbour. It was very central to transport and walking to alot of things.
Great having a balcony to sit on or dry washing. Great having a washing machine, and kitchen to cook. Close to IGA to shop.
Loved pool in block 2 which was heated - swam every day even thoguh the other pools were a bit cool.

There were a few things in disrepair which didn't affect our holiday - the taps in the shower were a bit leaky, there were tiles missing in the bathroom and kitchen, a light was faulty A small family of tiny roaches seemed to love the toaster, (not unsurprising in a tropical location) but they were easily contained.
The open bathroom, was a plus and minus. It meant that the bedroom felt open and had a view of the harbour when the shower curtain was open, but it was just a bit of an unusual feature to have the shower over bath in the living area. The downside of an unvenitlated toilet i won't go into.
We had an amazing stay! The accommodation was spotless, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The location was perfect. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable place to stay. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
