Location is amazing. Restaurant and bar has large deck with beautiful water views. Staff is friendly.

Pastries were delicious.

Manager, Don, promised refund after needing to cancel due to covid.
Never saw a refund. Even after I emailed him. Nothing!
He lied. I'm out $700 and I'm sure they were able to rent my room.

Sunnyside has fallen so far. We waited forever in the bar. The positives were the friendly bartenders who gave us great service. We kept checking on our deck table and were told a few times it was being cleared. Only to be led to a dirty table. A rude manager name Ashley was so disrespectful telling us do we want the table or not? She kept asking us if we made reservations or not? Hello we had a pager and had been waiting over an hour. I cannot understand how she could be a mgr. The young hostess seemed in shock by her attitude. We ended up walking next door and enjoyed a marvelous night with good food and great service. Sad as we’ve always had great times at Sunnyside but this was it for us!

Location was great - very nice deck, outdoor restaurant. Were there on a Taco Tuesday, but they wouldn't let us order tacos - go figure. They said we would have to go inside to get them. Something about "the kitchen would be overwhelmed if everyone ordered tacos". What? The rooms were subpar, the bed advertised as Queen was only a full. This created lots of discomfort, my wife ended up sleeping on the couch in the room. Stay away from room 22. We didn't have a fireplace.
The "breakfast" was pretty weak, the hard boilded eggs were soft boiled and cold - Yuk. When I alerted the staff he kind of shrugged it off and left them there for the next unwary traveler. Very disappointing line up based on expectations and price of the room. Granola and yogurt were fine. Everything else was pretty bland. The following day we went out for a real breakfast.

We had dinner here recently as a large group, the food was terrible, long wait, cold and over cooked when it eventually arrived, our starters didn’t arrive at all, could be better for the prices charged, the view is spectacular, maybe the chef was on holidays!

I liked the feel of the place. I also really liked the tea nook, even though I didn’t utilize it. Proximity to the lake was definitely a win. I also thought Heather was especially helpful in helping me sort out issues I had before my arrival.

Wonderful restaurant experience.
We (2 couples) stopped in to the Sunnyside Restaurant after a day of driving around the lake and experiencing the beauty of Lake Tahoe. Our food was wonderful. Our server, Madison, was delightful. And the setting along the lake was magnificent.

We really loved staying at Sunnyside. Room was super clean, comfortable, nice balcony. Great breakfast and restaurant with amazing views over Lake Tahoe. Nice hotel guest area with amenities such as water, coffee, cookies in the afternoon
