The Golden Tulip Presidential Hammamet is a very large property, which is one of the things I liked about the hotel. There is plenty of space and the grounds are sizeable. However, unfortunately, the positives were outweighed by a number of issues during my stay.
The biggest problem is that the hotel feels very old and outdated. The décor, facilities, lifts and general appearance are all in need of modernisation. The lifts in particular were very small and outdated, which was inconvenient considering the size of the property.
The hotel was also extremely busy, with lots of children running around, which made the atmosphere quite noisy and hectic at times. I appreciate that this can depend on the time of year, but it did affect the overall experience.
The air conditioning was another major issue. There was no effective air conditioning in the hallways, making them uncomfortably hot. Unfortunately, the air conditioning in my room wasn’t particularly good either, and it made it difficult to sleep comfortably at night.
I was also disappointed with the breakfast. For a four-star hotel, I expected a much better selection, but there wasn’t much choice. The drinks were particularly disappointing, as they tasted more like concentrated drinks rather than fresh fruit juice. Drinks were also served in plastic cups intended for children, which didn’t feel appropriate for a four-star hotel.
Another issue that really frustrated me was the lack of an iron for guests. As this is a four-star hotel with around 200 rooms, I would expect basic facilities such as an iron to be available. I woke up in the morning, took my unironed clothes out and then realised there was no iron in the room. I contacted reception expecting them to provide one, only to be told that the hotel doesn’t have irons available for guests.
I then waited an entire hour while they tried to arrange an iron, but they were ultimately unable to do so. I was even told that in Tunisia, hotels can receive a four-star rating without providing an iron. Regardless of the local requirements, I find this very disappointing for a hotel of this standard and size. It’s a basic facility that many travellers would reasonably expect.
Personnel très gentil . Buffets très copieux . Animation pour les enfants et piscines
Propreté douteuse . Très bruyant . Standing inférieur à d'autres établissements Golden Tulip
the hotel is as dirty as a refugee camp. everything is too old. air con blew out with explosion in electrical sockets one evening. The staff ignores you with the utmost disdain. Wifi & TV didnt work in my room and despite daily visits to the reception nothing got done in the week long stay. they couldnt care less.
The pool is dirty to the point where you have second thoughts about going in.
There is a little gym as well as and little indoor pool but they close it so there is less to maintain. When I asked they said its not fully installed yet, basically leave me alone type of answer.
My view on the food is summarised by simply saying we started eating out on the second day despite the all inclusive.
the staff doesnt give monkeys, we have to had arguments to get bottle water as they did not see well as drinking too much.
and on top of everything its well overpriced and even the campings I have been in are way better.
