£££s wasted. Won’t return there out of choice.
Pros:

Breakfast was fine, although pricey; tinned fruit is something I have not seen for a long time!
Staff were friendly.
Furniture and decor was interesting.

Cons:

Room was tiny, as was bathroom (for 2 people). Worse was the toilet seat (room 3) which was inches smaller than the porcelain!
Gluten free dinner menu was normal menu with lots scribbled out with felt tip marker. Food that came was below average.
Dead flowers in reception.

Good character hotel in a lovely village
Pros:

Great location, parking. Full of character. Good food

Cons:

Our room had little lighting...room 15. No ceiling lights so impossible to read when it was dark unless you sat on the bed.

Great stay and would come back, but needs a freshen up
Pros:

Location was great. All the staff were amazing . Great guy called Marvin couldn’t do enough for us.

Cons:

Needed a bit of tidying up. The garden needed some work and the inside could do with a freshen up

A comfortable stay as our room was lovely and met our requirements. Parking a pain
Pros:

Not great. Bacon under cooked. Half a black pudding, quite greasy with the eggs. Continental breakfast open and unprotected from the flies.

Cons:

Breakfast. Parking not great unless you arrive at the right time.

Comfortable well appointed and well worth a visit
Pros:

A great location very pretty hotel

Cons:

Car park is very small when you manage to get a spot someone will double park and you will need to wait for the hotel to locate the guests to move but there is a pay and display car park directly next to the hotel

Lovely stay at the Elephant at Pangbourne
Pros:

Had dinner in the Herd restaurant, highly recommend the steaks. Cooked to perfection.
Staff friendly. Bedroom and Bathroom very pleasant, comfortable bed.

Pangbourne is lovely, it’s Nice hotel but overpriced for what you get
Pros:

The old style and decor. Comfy bed and bedding. Our evening meal was delicious. Our room was at the back so it was lovely and quiet. The blackout curtains were really good. The fridge was welcoming.

Cons:

The view wasn’t great, not enough toiletries, the room was so dark due to blackout curtains being so good it was impossible to navigate to the bathroom and back. Breakfast was the worst we’ve had. We had to ask a staff member in the bar for hot drinks and can we order food. The bacon was burnt and toast not toasted enough. I like strong coffee but it was way too strong. I wished I’d brought my breakfast back. The breakfast server wasn’t very friendly, none of the staff were really., except a nice chap at the bar. Parking was tight but free so that was good.

Pros:

The hotel was lovely but unfortunately we were told when we arrived that the shower was leaking which partially ruined our stay as we were going to a wedding. The hotel did not have another room to give us as they were fully booked.

A very nice stay

Good location but very disappointing
Pros:

Location was good and the breakfast was tasty but only warm

Cons:

The place looks very tired with stains on the curtains in the breakfast room and stains on walls and carpets. The shower was too hot and you couldn't alter the temperature! (it was 38oC outside!) The bed was not comfortable. There was a tiny desk fan which did nothing and you couldn't open the window fully so it was a very warm night so didn't sleep much. The girl on reception spoke so quietly you couldn't hear what she was saying. Not welcoming at all. I had to ask what time was the breakfast served and where. The bottles of water in the room were warm. Toilet roll holder was hanging off in the bathroom due to a large crack in the tiles and the towel radiator was leaking and lots of hard water scale all down one side and the room wasn't very clean. The bar closed at 10pm which I thought was pretty early especially as it is August! The staff packed up, locked up and sat outside drinking and smoking near us which I thought was unprofessional. I gave my feedback but was just told this would be fed back the manager. Not even the offer of a refund or part refund.
