A lovely, clean, comfortable bed and breakfast with a wide variety of continental breakfast choices. We were three travelers, a couple plus a friend, and room 17 was perfect! Big and comfortable with bedroom and living room with sofa. The innkeepers were super helpful, and the town is really cute. We walked to the arboretum as well, and spent a few hours reading and rocking (chair) on the porch.
This Victorian B&B is steps away from the Summit Downtown Historic District with a myriad of dining and shopping options. The innkeepers are efficient and welcoming. The property is clean and well-maintained. Our king bedroom was spacious for only $197 a night. The continental breakfast featured several options. We particularly loved the wrap-around porch and flower-filled yard. You can walk to the nearby Arboretum. If you are Stickley fans, be sure to visit the Museum at Craftsman Farms. We look forward to returning.
My kids and I stayed for 10 days at the DeBary Inn, in Summit/NJ, during the FIFA World Cup. Everything went very well and I would definitely recommend the hotel. Highlights: the staff is very caring and attentive, with high notes to Bob and Sharon. Rooms are large and clean. Breakfast brings many good options and is very good. Hotel location is also a strength. It’s definitely a place to stay when in the region!
Understated. Traditional and basic standards. Small rooms with clean and fundamental bathroom. Old building made very comfortable. Especially nice breakfast. Welcoming staff. Nice value.
The DeBary in Summit is our home-away-from-home. We visit for a week each Summer and it is the perfect place to reconnect with our Millburn extended family. The Inn has ample, beautiful outdoor spaces to host nearby family for take-out, relax with a bottle of wine, or simply unwind on the rocking chair while enjoying the cool breeze from overhead fans and listening to birdsong. Stunning cardinals and bluejays enjoy the feeder off the porch as well as a friendly squirrel and chipmunks. Inside, the staff works hard to make your stay comfortable--extra towels, blankets, recommendations for restaurants and deli's, the best wine shop, or how to navigate the trains to the City. When I visit alone, I am carefully attended to - the staff is always willing to stop what they are doing to have a chat and truly care about their guests. I have stayed in a wide range of rooms upstairs (nice & quiet) but my favorite room is the one behind the guest kitchen. There is ample parking for a car (Summit is so walkable, I rarely get a car anymore!). The Inn is situated within an eye-popping neighborhood of incredible homes - everyone is friendly and out & about mornings and evenings with their dogs. Can't wait for my annual visit again next Summer!
Everything! Gorgeous building great location and very friendly, informative staff. Lots of history to this place. We really enjoyed our stay.
Nothing!
We were so happy with DeBary Inn in Summit, NJ. We were 15 minutes away from family we were visiting in the area and could have easily gone into the city. Perfect location, reasonable price, lovely room and porch/public areas, free (filling) breakfast, in a really gorgeous neighborhood of houses and yards, and an arboretum to walk to nearby. It's right near a great little downtown with a ton of restaurants, and walkable to a train to NYC. Free parking at the hotel, so there's no expense there, to stay at the inn or get to NYC. FTW no kidding. Beautiful place and really helpful, nice people managing it who treated us very personally for any questions. My only regret was not making it to the local art museum there - one of only a few in the state of that kind, it said. We'll have to go back!
The DeBary Inn will be my new home away from home when visiting my kids amd grandkids. It is charming, comfortable and well located. I loved the wrap around porch and the garden. Great ac units and comfortable bedroom with all the basics for a lovely stay. I appreciate the period decor in this historic building. Highly recommend.
The size of the room, comfortable bed and extremely friendly and helpful staff.
The room and bathroom as the rest of the house was outdated but probably it's the charm of the place.
The location was perfect — just an easy walking distance to the train station for quick trips into NYC. Our room was spotless, and the bed was extremely comfortable, making it easy to relax after a busy day.
The garden area was absolutely beautiful. The porch is super nice to read books and meet friends. Staff Robert was so kind, welcoming, and genuinely helpful throughout our visit.
We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend The DeBary Inn to anyone visiting Summit and NYC.
Our stay at the DeBary Inn was beyond disappointing. In fact, we ended up checking out after one night and had to find somewhere else to stay for the rest of our trip. (We did have to pay for two nights even though we only stayed for one night because of their cancellation policy). Our bed was hard and uncomfortable and the sheets were thin and rumpled. The room was dusty and in major need of updating, the microwave was dirty and the closet contained only a couple of random hangers. The toiletries provided were minimal at best. All in all I would recommend finding somewhere else to stay in Summit NJ
Great location, walk to downtown Summit for shopping and excellent restaurants. The Inn has beautiful rooms excellent service and lovely garden.
