Met expectations although was hoping for more.
Pros:

Historical property being the first hotel in Kobe around 1868. but modernized for the current time. Breakfast buffet is one of the top 5 we have experienced in Japan over the last 5 years. French toast and Eggs Benedict were excellent. Staff interactions could be improved but normal for Japanese standards.

Cons:

Having to complete the guest check in information seemed redundant as the property had all the required information in advance with our direct booking.

We loved our stay at The Orient!
Pros:

The Orient is a gorgeous hotel with excellent service and facilities. The 17th floor restaurant with view of the city was a real pleasure.

Luxury worth the price
Pros:

Everything was very well thought out when it came to decor, comfort, the club lounge offerings, and all of the amenities. The staff was attentive and friendly, yet also very professional and non-obtrusive. We loved, too, that the checkout time was noon.

Cons:

There was nothing we didn’t like about our stay except that we had to leave such a luxurious and comfortable hotel.

Pros:

Everything about this location was splendid. A great venue, great views, in a great city. So much more accessible than Tokyo, and the staff at the hotel were quite nice.
