Nothing
Due to a medical emergency while we were vacationing in upstate New York, my husband had to spend more than a week at Upstate Hospital in Syracuse. We found this hotel, just a few blocks from the hospital, where we stayed for three nights before getting an Airbnb for the next week or so. The staff at the hotel could not have been nicer as we tried to figure out what to do amid these unexpected circumstances, so far from home. In particular, the front desk staff helped us extend our stay for an extra day and were overwhelmingly so kind that it made this crisis more manageable. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the small size of this hotel provided the calm and quiet that were just what we needed. If there was an option to award more than five stars, I would.
Several things. Number one it's beautiful and I love the history behind the building. Second it was very clean which is so appreciated after a long drive-not having to worry about that just showering and passing out in a comfy clean bed! Not to mention the staff was on point! No attitude just smiles and kindness! Something I definitely needed since I was having surgery the next day! Did I mention my name was on the tv when I walked in? How cute :)
Nothing I didn't like about the property
Great location, cute bar area, decent breakfast and coffee options
Construction
New purpose for historic building. Comfortable and spacious room. Parking.
There were stairs on the floor and we weren’t informed about them before dragging our luggage up to our room. My husband uses a cane and I am recovering from knee replacement. While they would have changed our room, we were already up there, tired, and didn’t want the hassle. A second issue was there were several menu shortages by the end of the weekend. Disappointing especially for a breakfast we had to pay for.
Really friendly staff! Good vibes. Well laid out rooms, new plumbing. Nice breakfast. And great location, two blocks from Upstate Hospital, where my spouse was having a procedure done.
It was clean, nicely decorated, and the staff was friendly. Also, free parking was very convenient for us, as we toured the University on our check-out day. It was a nice bonus to nor have to find and possibly pay for other parking.
The price was a bit high but still manageable.

Für das Geld doch etwas in die Jahre gekommen
Stayed at the Hotel Skyler for one night while visiting Syracuse. What a lovely hotel! We had a 1 bedroom suite, and it was charming. We truly appreciated the charming historic details. The room was very clean and comfortable.
The staff was so kind and helpful. We checked in very late at night and the person on duty was very nice. The next morning, breakfast was tasty.
I will for sure stay here again if we are in the area.
Close to campus. Very comfortable. Very clean. Very quiet. Friendly staff, and food and drink on premises too.

Liked the building conversion
A little pricey
The breakfast burrito could have been better
The HVAC system was a bit noisy when running, on the picky side the floors squeaked and felt spongy in places both these comments pertain to minor shortcomings.
