Pros:

The staff was all amazing. I struggle to walk and I was assisted by the most wonderful young man to get to my room with so much patience. All the other staff was also very willing to help me. The restaurant/bar area was so cozy and comfortable. We sat there for hours next to a cozy fire in the fireplace. The food was very good and very well priced. We also enjoyed that they had happy hour for the drinks. The room was spacious and clean and well laid out with even a balcony. The bed was comfortable and the bedding lovely to sleep under. Really a lovely gem. Breakfast was also lovely. I have never tasted a better omelette in any restaurant. The spice that was added to the omelette was so delicious. If I could I would eat two of those. So yummy!!

We will be back.
Pros:

Upon entering the premises at the boom gate, we were treated like VIP guests. Reception was over and above friendly and helpful. Room was spotless and very comfortable bed. We had a delicious late lunch at the restaurant before going out in the evening. Breakfast was excellent and when checking out, we felt like we should stay another night or even a week. Will never stay anywhere else again. Well done and thank you to all then staff. XXX

Very enjoyable.
Pros:

The check in was easy and the staff were very helpful. We had a lovely spacious room with a double shower.

Cons:

The room was a self-catering designed room but didn't actually have anything in it for self-catering which was not a huge inconvenience but could have been helpful.

Know Marriott brand internationally and Protea just does not make it locally....

Spending time with friends after their mother's funeral service...

Cons:

Poor food and wine selection outdoors on a beautiful early winter afternoon. Tasteless lunch salad. Tasteless dinner main course (yellowtail) and dessert (chocolate torte). Requested quiet room when booking. Took 4 attempts to find one. Despite being a non smoking room reeked of cigarettes. Took 3 attempts to get VAT number added to invoice at check out. Staff were superficially engaged seemingly unwilling and unable to create solutions. Must admit to having similar experiences at Protea Wanderers and Mbombela...
