Mixed feelings about this hotel. Style over substance?
Pros:

The hotel is in a stunning location and the decor in the communal areas is beautiful. The breakfast has lots of choices to suit most people. The staff member who greeted me upon arrival (Kit) was fantastic - helpful, gave useful suggestions of places to go other than the usual tourist traps and to eat.

Cons:

The room cleaning was haphazard. I found out when I checked out and mentioned it that my room should have had daily cleaning but it hadn’t been added to their system ( no apology - I was made to feel it was my fault for not mentioning it sooner)! On the third day I asked the cleaner to vacuum the wood floor as it was very dusty. They did, but nothing was done before or after that one clean / emptying bins etc.

The decor in the room looked tired. There was missing grout on the bathroom floor and the sink had hairline cracks. The tap leaked if you left it turned to cold water. Given the response I got about the cleaning situation I didn’t see any point in mentioning this to the young guy when I checked out. It wasn’t like they were going to refurbish it while I was there! The description of the room did not mention the interior steps (two sets of two) which whilst stylish were not distinguishable from the floor covering in certain light. I don’t know why they didn’t have a contrast trim for safety. The shower area needs new grout and someone needs to explain to the cleaners how to clean the handheld shower head as it was covered in built up soap scum.

Sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt. Wunderbare Lage. Äußerst freundliches Personal. Sehr gutes Frühstück. Dinner im Restaurant exzellent.

Cons:

Die Betten waren weniger komfortabel. M.E. fehlte die Hauptmatraze eines Boxspringbettes. Daher sehr weich, durchhängend und niedrig.

Pros:

The staff was great. Knew a lot about the area, told me about the best mountainbike trails, the best local restaurants and were nice in general. I rented a mountainbike from the hotel, which was a great bike. It had no problem going down some off road mountainbike trail at 60 km/h.

There was some student festival close to the hotel, I suspect that's why I got an upgrade on my room. The room was spacious, I didn't like the soft mattress and the shower was one of the better showers I've stood underneath. The pool and sauna are great and had them all to myself a few times.

I underestimated the distance to the city centre (40 mins metro ride), but that might be my lack of research beforehand.

Cons:

The breakfast had too much fat in it, could be a bit healthier. The eggs, bacon, sausages, mushrooms were full of oil and fat. Could use some healthier options as avocado and some more fruit options.

Ett fellesrom med TV bør vurderes. Vi hadde bestilt to enkeltrom, som iKKE har TV. Skulle se fotball, og måtte oppgradere ett rom. Unødvendig og uvanlig. Stusselig tilbud på mat/kake/kaffe/drikke på kveld.

Beautiful place over charged for everything.
Pros:

Very pretty

Cons:

Charge for parking £40 for 1 nights stay. Paid £200. No free coffee facilities. No free water in room. The man at the desk was moody. Didn’t mention WiFi what time breakfast was or how to use spa. More interested on talking to his girlfriend.

Pros:

Nous avons tout aimé.
Ambiance cosy, bel endroit avec beau paysage.
Très bon dîner. Buffet du petit déjeuner copieux et varié. Service aimable. Nous y retournerons volontiers pour la fin de notre séjour. Et en plus l'hôtel n'est pas trop loin d'Oslo en étant dans un endroit pittoresque.
