Good stay spoiled by parking charges
Pros:

Breakfast good plates cold.

Cons:

Parking charges were not explained on arrival. Could have parked in adjacent street for free . No bedside table on one side of bed.

Hotel cancelled our room which was booked to visit recently widowed aunt!
Pros:

WE DIDN'T STAY AT THE HOTEL - HOTEL CANCELLED OUR ROOM

Cons:

I didn’t stay in the hotel. Booked on Booking.com and was just about to leave when the hotel called and cancelled my booking as they said there were no rooms available. However, at such a stressful time I then had to chase them to cancel my booking on Booking.com otherwise I was liable to pay a cancellation charge.

This would be annoying for most people but was worse for us as my husband’s much loved uncle had died suddenly just a few hours before booking - we needed a room for the night so that we could go and support my husband’s aunt and deal with the funeral directors who were collecting the body.

The hotel knew this as I had spoken to them prior to making the booking and I think their treatment of us is pretty appalling. I didn’t like being treated like this when the hotel knew that we had been bereaved just hours prior to trying to making the booking.

Despite some shortages, a pleasant stay, would use again
Pros:

Perfect location to what we needed, clean and tidy, bedroom spacious and bed very comfortable. Nice ambiance. Excellent pizza .

Cons:

Perception of a shortage of some facilities, I.e. only one coffee pod in room (Cappuccino) I only drink Americano black and advised no more available, shortage of wine- no pink blush, and only a small glass of Sauvignon Blanc left late evening

Overall a pleasant stay and a good location for the centre of Salisbury but I don’t think I would bother to stay here ag
Pros:

The bedroom and bathroom was just lovely and was spotlessly clean. The rooms had air conditioning which was very welcome during this incredibly hot period. We loved that we had bath sheets not bath towels and they were very soft and fluffy. The rooms were very nicely decorated.

Cons:

The reception rooms such as the bar were unbearably hot without any air conditioning and it was just impossible to stay in there for any amount of time. The breakfast room was narrow and a bit on the cramped side and I don’t think the breakfast was as good as many other hotels offer. I thought it was expensive for what you get. Something that really bugs me is the stinginess with the tea, coffee and milk supplies only two tea bags and two coffees! Fair enough you could get more if you went to reception and asked but who wants to do that? For a hotel charging £194 per night without breakfast this was poor.

Pros:

We had two fans and a fridge. It was hot this week and Brits don't do AC.

Cons:

Parking was tight when they had a "day meeting" aka conference.
